Guests that replied no...

When I sent out my STD's a couple of people called to say the could not make it and sent a gift. Do you still 1. invite them to the shower and 2. send them an invitation anyway? TIA

I would still send an invite just as a courtesy

I would send them an invite anyways...As for the shower, I personally only invited close family and friends so it would depend on who the person is to me.

hmm.. i think i'd still invite them as a nice gesture. just because, you never know, maybe their plans will change?? well, that's what i'd do anyway :o)

I don't think i would want to receive a invitation to a wedding that i already declined. JMO

I would not send the invitation. They already said no. If something changes and they're close with you or they want to come and suddenly become available they can let you know.

ETA- Maybe you should send out a thank you card to them and include a little note that if their plans change and they would like to come to please let you know.

i would send it out of courtesy and like someone else said- plans may change. i went through this and about 5 people who had previously told me they would not be able to make it sent back an invitation saying that they could now. so, you never know!

Thank you all. Great advice. I guess I will have to ask my parents as it is their close friends but I agree plans can change.

I wouldn't. To me, if I said I couldn't make it and sent a gift after the STD, it would appear you're sending an invite just to fish for another gift.

I know this isn't the case with you obviously but that would be my gut if it happened to me.

I think I may send it just in case their plans changed.

Why don't you send it with a note in it saying they already RSVP'd no but you would like them to have the invite and in case their plans change, they are still invited.

I think this is the best option. This way you can avoid them feeling offended or guilty.
I would personally be offended if I didn't receive an invite after receiving a Save The Date, even if I couldn't go, it's just the gesture of it.
