Guests unable to attend

Guests unable to attend

Just out of curiousity.. Did you girls receive gifts from people who declined ? And if so did you receive it in the response card or did you get a separate card? Just curious about the etiquette for this

Yes, we did. . .some included it right along with the response card. A couple of them decided to buy a wedding card, stick the gift in there, and included a note saying 'sorry I won't be able to join you on your special day,' which I counted as their RSVP.

And you'll also find that many out of state/out of town guests may decide to just ship their gifts to you a week or two prior to the wedding. We had four or five guests do this for us!!!!!

Didn't get any in the response card. Some came in the mail as packages, others in cards in the mail, others dropped gifts off, others gave them to FMIL. I know my friend Christy had two gifts show up at the wedding that were from people who weren't there and must have sent them with friends.

I know a lot of times people send gifts after the wedding. They have up to a year even if they did attend.

we got some before the wedding, and we got some after. i thought it was thoughtful of them to send it. i wasn't expecting it.

Both. WE got a few in our RSVP's and other mailed or sent a card with someone who was attending the wedding.

we got some from guests who were unable to attend...some send in the response card, some sent wedding cards and others shipped us presents. I thought it was very nice and totally unnecessary!

We've gotten a few gifts thus far from guests not attending. Only one person bought a tiny card and put it in with the response card with a check in it. Others purchased off of our registry and sent it. But it has only been a few people. Some sent gifts for missing our eparty/shower also oddly enough.

Some yes, some no. I didn't really care either way. I've said no before and not sent a gift so I wouldn't expect it from someone else. The ones I did receive a gift from came separate from the response card.

We did get quite a few gifts from people who couldn't attend. We also got gifts from people who didn't attend after the wedding!

We received a few gifts from guests that have declined. We received a check with one of our RSVPs and two gifts in the mail so far. Guests have up to one year to give a wedding gift. Some people that decline will not send a gift.
