Gurney's Inn, Carltun on the Sound or Lands End

Hi,
Anyone have any reviews on Gurney's Inn, Carltun on the Sound--(formerly Sound View in Bayville), or Lands End?

I thank you in advance!

Lands End is amazing- we looked there but felt it was too far for family in the city.

My sister was married at Flowerfield- same owners and it was incredible!

We visited Carltun on the Sound and we weren't impressed at all. All they kept saying was- sister of Carlton on the Park... blah blah blah- there were several things I didnt like including the banquet manager- also when you walk to the windows of the ballroom the view of the water is pretty but you also see a large area that at the time wasn't really cleaned up.

I just felt they played too much on being the sister of Carltun on the Park to make a sale.

I think you mean formerly Sail Harbor in Bayville.

If so, I went there to look and, JMO, we were not impressed at all. I found the BM to be extremely obnoxious and the place itself was really disappointing. They talk themselves up for the water but what they fail to mention is that there is a tremendous blacktop parking lot between the place and the grass, that leads to the sand, that FINALLY leads to the water.

Also, we have some elderly guests, including grandparents. The cocktail room is downstairs and there is no way to get a handicapped person down there other than bringing them up through the freight elevator.

Of those three, Land's End is the only one for which I've heard consistently good reviews.

If you're looking in Bayville you should check out The Crescent.
