GW Manor, Metropolitan, Woodbury CC

We are planning a Nov 2001 wedding for about 100 people and have narrowed our search to the Metropolitan in Glen Cove, Woodbury Country Club, and George Washington Manor. I would appreciate any input on these three places, specifically relating to the quality of food and service. We've seen all 3 places and aren't sure that the downstairs cocktail room at George Washington will hold 100 guests comfortably. Can anyone comment?

I got married at WCC in May and it was great. We had the downstairs room and had about 140 people. The food and the service were both excellent, I could not have been happier. The cocktail is superb.

The sales tax it 8.50%. I have my contract at home and I don't remember if it's included on there. I do know that our 15% charge was not included and we were told that we could pay it the day of the wedding(probably because the guy knew we are working on a budget and by leaving it off, it makes it look like we are spending less money).

Thanks. You're right, they are three very different places. That's why we are having trouble choosing between them. Each one has its pluses and minuses.

From your response it sounds like the food and service at Metropolitan was a bit better than at the other two. Is there anything else that one does significantly better than the others?

I am getting married at the WCC in Sept. 2001 and choose it for the beautiful decor and gorgeous gardens which is not a hard find but the deal closer was the manager we are dealing with and the over all service the Country Club provides. We went for a food tasting and the food was devine. So to have the best of all the worlds the WCC definitely provides it.

The other time, it was up to me how I wanted to wear my hair and I just used hot rollers at home. That was really a better look for me than the up-do and worked great.

Thank you all for the info! We still haven't made our final decision, but it looks like it will probably at Woodbury in Nov 2001.

Although I loved the chapel and the main room at GW Manor, we ruled it out because we are very concerned that the cocktail room will not fit 100 comfortably.
