Gym Buddy Thread

Original post by bella_bride

Hi Ladies,

I really need to get into top wedding shape and I have about a year to do it... only problem is that I am not motivated!!! I figured that some of you may feel the same way so I decided to start this thread.

Post where your gym is located and what times you usually go to the gym... there may be another bride that goes to the same gym and you can partner up!

X Sport is 50 a month. You can do tons of things at home even without equipment. Local libraries and community centers have cheap classes too. You can find a fitness class for 5-10 dollars there.

yeah there are so many core exercises, and squat combos, free weight routines, you can do at home...if you're motivated. I kinda need to go to the gym or I just won't do it.
but a lot of the things my trainer has me do you don't need a machine for!

And if you have Cablevision, there are a whole bunch of free channels that have workout videos and yoga. My friend does them!

I'm NYSC, but I'm the one in Deer Park and I can only go to that locartion. It has everything for only $39 a month! I love it. I just started going there (after having the membership for at least 6 months).

The Bridal Boot camp sounds like a great idea! Maybe some sort of obstacle course would be good. They have them on long island, so maybe they would give us a group rate!

I just signed up for a membership to Absolutely Fit in Bellmore. They have spin and sculpt classes. I try to go to at least 3 of the 4 weekday evening classes and 1 of the weekend classes:

Mon 7pm spin
Tues 615pm Sculpt
Wed 7pm spin
Thurs 615pm Sculpt
Sat 730am spin
830am sculpt
Sun 830am 30/30 (spin/sculpt)

They also have personal training there but I think I might sign up for that after this 6 month membership is over and the wedding is a bit closer!

Synergy in Merrick- my schedule varies every week. I'm also doing a training program in Locust Valley.

I actually got something in the mail from Sportstime about a Bridal Bootcamp. I will post the info and maybe some of us will be interested?

So wish I was still living in merrick. Although when i did i belonged to ladies express and never had motivation to go. But if i had someone to drag me would be diff. Im right near Locust valley now, im in oyster bay.

LA fitness in new hyde park.

Tues, wed, thurs, sat and sun.

I take a bunch of kickboxing classes, cardio, and see a trainer twice a week

I work literally an inch away from this building!! I work for NSLIJ How much is it to just take a class there if you belong to another gym?

I don't know if they do that, the classes are all free with gym membership, which is 50 a month....
