FH & I are looking to join a gym together. We're in southwestern Nassau so we'd like to not stray too far. We want something very, very affordable...a no frills type of place. Any recs? How much does your gym cost for a year? Any Planet Fitness users?

i am not a planet fitness user but i have heard that those gyms get PACKED cuz its so cheap so everyone joins. they also dont offer any extras like classes, spin class, pools, saunas, etc. not sure exactly what you are looking for
i belong to LA Fitness...its expensive ($50 a month) but there is no contract and you can put your membership on hold for $10 a month if you dont use it. its a nice gym and the times that we were going it wasnt filled with annoying superficial people

I go to Lucille Roberts so I'm not help there. But when FH and I lived in Elmont, we used to go to Synergy together. I was very happy there.

I was just going to suggest Synergy. It's on hempstead turnpike in franklin square, just west of franklin ave/newhyde park road.
