The next evening appointment they have is March 30th. Daytime would be March 16th. Is it me? Am I crazy or is this ridiculous beyond belief?

Re: Gyno Appointments
That doesn't surprise me at all. When I book an appointment, I usually wait for at least a month (unless it is urgent). I also always endure the longest wait in waiting room history.

Oh I know. Even if I make this appt one month in advance, there is no chance that I'll be right in and out of there...

That's not so bad. I have to make an appt 3 months in advance! It's crazy.

Re: Gyno Appointments
I got lucky and nailed a 9am! whoohoo (sarcasm) I just love how they through it at you like you should be so happy..
(here's how my call goes) **** Hi, my name is X, X I'd like to make an appt to see Dr. X -Please hold.. (time passes) -Your name (not thank you for holding) My name (as I said before) is X, X -Which Doctor? *sigh* Doctor X (MORE time passes, no 'please hold' nothing just slience) -Next earliest available is March 18th. Ok so how about the 24th.. ? -I said the 18th I can't DO thursdays -she's not in on Wednesday When is she in, what days? -No on Wednesdays. (GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR) Fine.. about about Tuesdays? -Your appt is now set for the 23rd, thank you. (repeats time and date) ****
LIKE I HAVE A CHOICE??!??!?! I hate this time of the year. GRRR The doctor herself is GREAT. But the front desk.. GRRRR I have SO many issues with them. I hate Gyno Doctor looking tho. *sigh* So I guess I'll stick around. I keep saying to myself 'Just once a year'.
I do love the 'no news is good news' motto they have. You go, you do your thing, you walk out and never see them again unless something's wrong.
Just once a year. *sigh*

That's hysterical. I think we go to the same place...I love, love, love my doctor, but God knows, I hate dealing with her desk people...Oh well.

Re: Gyno Appointments
You should complain to the doc about their staff... you should not have to be treated that way. It's a business like anything else, if you are not happy it should be known.
Also, I would always follow up with test results... even if it is just a urine culture. There is a reason why OB/GYN's are the doctors most sued for malpractice. Leave nothing to assumption.

Re: Gyno Appointments
That's totally normal for my OB/GYN...you need to book at least one month in advance.
If I have a problem (ie. suspect a UTI), I ask to see the Nurse Practioner ASAP. Then, I get an appointment within the next couple of days.

LOL!! DO we have the same GYN???? I have an appt on 3/4 and it's the 3rd reschedule. I took the day off from work the frist time & then they couldn't guarantee when he'd be in, second time I cancelled (for basically the same reason), so keep I'm crossing my fingers for Thursday!!

Re: Gyno Appointments
That's why I go to the nurse practitioner in the office. If I want an appointment with the doctor, I have to wait months! And then I wait hours to get in to see him.

My office doesn't have an NP.

Re: Gyno Appointments
my doc has no NP either.
The wait is ridiculously long. Worse for me is its in the City so I have to usually take a cab to get there and a cab to work. So it costs me money! I HATE to spend money on stupid crap.
I like the no news is good news motto. It's not to say you Can't call with questions. I had one visit (years ago) come back abnormal, after the ordeal biopsies and surgical procedure later, I don't take this stuff lightly.
I just appreciate NOT getting a voice msg on my machine saying 'Your test results came back normal, if you have questions, please call.' or the nice post card I used to get which BLARES out for all to see 'Dear Ms. X, You recent PAP Smear came back normal' I lived with two guys (Irish men no less) for 3 years in Queens. The last thing I wanted was those types of 'notices'. I don't mind calling to find out if I need to.
Jim just knows I call this the tool box visit. It's the visit when the doctor comes with a toolbox to check if Im alright.
Spinoff: Ever felt like giving your OB/GYN a hand warmer??? Brrrrr
