Hi girls. I have a big dilemma. I am thinking of leaving my gynocologist.
Ok, here is the deal. I have been going to him for YEARS! His partner delivered me. I got every 6 months, yet each time I go, he doesn't remember me.
He asks the same things, what do you do, where do you live. I feel like he asks all those questions to just make small talk and asks them to everyone. Now, don't get me wrong, I know he has a lot of patients and I know he is not going to be my best friend, but.... I still want to feel like he has some interest in me besides doing what needs to be done. Know what I mean???
Anyway, so for my 6 mo. check ups it was fine. I just wanted to make sure everything was ok. But now that we are goign to start TTC, I am nervous about staying with him, but I am also nervous about going to someone else. What if you go to someone new once you are already preggo, is that ok???
Can anyone rec. someone is the West Islip, Babylon area. I will have United Healthcare HMO. Now, I have always gone to a man, should I go to a woman, is there really a difference. Opinions, advice, anyone???
Thanks, Denise

I dont know anyone in that area but I love my Dr! she is in hewlett, she remembers everything! My name, my moms name when I got married, she asked how it was and if I had pictures for her to see!
if you want her name FM me - last few months though she wasnt taking any new patients but you never know, but you should have a Dr. you feel comfortable with. when I call her w/ questions, she calls back even if its 930/10PM when she finishes all her patients, she once called me back at home like 945

Wow, Tammyjill, that is great. I would love her name but Hewlett is a little too far away from me. Thanks, though, for letting me know that I am not asking for too much! :)

Hi Denise!! I am going to a new one in January because of the good recommendations that the ladies on here gave Bethpage OBGYN. I am seeing Dr. Bervine in January. I can let you know how it goes...

I had to find a new one becuase I had a UTI, and another girl on this board recommeneded Bethpage Ob/Gyn . It was the best recommendation. I saw Dr.Adrienne George. She is kind, patient , sensitive, etc. I highly recommend her.

I go to SouthBend OB/GYN in West Islip and I love them there. I was going to Denise Lester and she was great. Very easy to talk to and listened when I needed her too. I just switched doctors in the same practice to a man Dr. Patrino or something like that because of TCC issues and he is wonderful as well. Very caring.
Good luck!!

Bethpage is also out of my range that I was hoping for. Thanks though, they sound like a great place.
SouthBend OBGYN? I heard of Denise Lester, but I also heard when you call and if you have a problem, there is a hugh wait to get in becuase they are so busy....

My OB/GYN is in Garden City so I wont bother with the recommendation but I just wanted to say that he has on more than one occasion called me Bridget (my SIL). This guy saw me throughout my first pregnancy and after and now with the second. The first time he did it, he was really embarrassed, especially considering I was seeing him every week at that point! Then he did it the other day again. Next time I am calling him by his partner's name. LOL LOL
I changed doctors when I was preggo, my old Gyn was not an OB. Whether they're male or female is a matter of your own preference.

If there is no problems and it is just a regular visit ... yes you have to call up to a month in advance for an appointment. But I had a few issues and they actually changed around appointments so I could see Dr. Lester. Last time I went to see Dr. Polcino (i remembered his name lol) they kept the office open late for me because the train was stuck.
So far they have been great to me (knock on wood) : ).

i feel like you ar describing my doctor to a T- Ive been going to him for years yet he calls me jeanette and constantly asks me the same questions about my self. I need to leave him before I ttc or else Im afraid that he wont be involved with me and my pregnancy. So im on the hunt as well

I go to a male OB/GYN in Garden City and have been for 8 years. I know he knows me well and I appreciate that. I think part of the reason is that he is a sole practicioner and not part of a practice where you never can be quite sure who you'll see on your visit, no less maybe deliver your child. It's a matter of preference. Please FM is Garden City is in your range.
