Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

My friend got her dress their, and overall she is very happy with them. I went with her to her 2nd fitting-and the dress was absolutely beautiful. The alterations seemed to be done well and the bustle looked great. The seamstress wasn't the most personable and seemed annoyed that we were taking so long to practice doing the bustle. She had also, at the previous fitting, demanded my very skinny friend lose weight ( I posted before about this).

But the important thing is the dress looks perfect-so I'm sure she would recommend them
If this is the dress you want -I say go for it!!!!

Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

I've posted before that I bought my dress at Adriennes just before the negative posts started.

Overall I would say my experience has been okay. They were very helpful with helping me choose the dress, headpiece and veil. I have found with most of my vendors, as soon as you hand over your money their interest fades quite a bit, and Adriennes is no exception.

If that's where the dress you want is, and if it was me I would get it. I would suggest you stay on top of them. They aren't good at returning phone calls, so don't wait on them to call back, just keep calling. Check on delivery dates, if you are at all pressed for time.

I just had my second fitting last Friday, and there were still some problems, and the seamstress was very helpful. I won't be back in Town to try it on until the week of the wedding. She spent over an hour trying different things to make sure what she was going to do would work. She even altered the bra for me on the spot.

If you have any specific questions send me a forum email.

Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

I got my dress (and alterations) at Adrienne's. I love their selection. I would suggest that you buy it there, and if you can, have it altered elsewhere. But, if you can't have it altered elsewhere, still buy it there. They are good at what they do, honest! It's just that they take more time than is necessary sometimes, and they're not always finished when they say they will be done. Therefore, I would STRONGLY suggest lying to them about your wedding date. Make it at least two weeks earlier than it is so you will definitely have your dress on time. Good luck, and get the dress you love!

Thanks everyone! I think I'm going to get it, but maybe I'll see if I can get it altered someplace else.

Shepppy, I just bought my dress at Adreinne's ,and it was by the 'mystery designer'. I can't remember the designer's name, and I remembered this post and thought maybe you remebered the designer.....Also, did you end up gettting your dress there????? Thanks!

Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

Shepppy, thank you so much for the info! I ordered my dress about a month ago....it is a silk organza ivory ballgown, the top is straight across with a strap that kind of makes it look like a halter. It has white and silver beading and a cathedral length train....I love it! I feel like a queen when I have it on. I will post a picture when it comes in. Congratulations on your dress purchase, post a picture when you can!

Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

I went to adriennes for my gown, I have to say that I dont know..how anyone had a problem when going there. I lived close by to the store and I was usually there a couple of times a month to check up on things..And i have to say the ladies who work there..especially the ones in the back building were always informative. Many times I requested swatches..for my girls and also for the florists and never did i have problems with them. I would get the swatches in no time..they also helped a couple of bridesmaids who were on the heavier side fined
under garments for themselves at other stores. I dont know about everyone else...I had a wonderful wedding day with their help.

Sheppy
YOU ARE TOTALLY RIDICULUS
Adrienne's was the best bridal store on Long Island. I bought my dress there a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it there. My sister got married a year ago and everythign went great. I couldn't believe how professionally I was handled. Maybe it was your attitude that the girls couldn't handle.

Re: Help -- Adrienne's Bridal Again

I bought my dress from Adrienne's and I have had no problems. Everyone has been very sweet and the alterations are coming along great. I have my third and final fitting this Thursday. Also, they are fixing my veil. My MOH made my veil & comb- well, turns out that the tulle didn't match my dress. So they are re-doing with the matching tulle and attaching it to the comb (which is awesome- filled w/ swarovski crystals) in one week! I recommend them.
Also, the seamstress has been so nice too!
