We had our casual day photo shoot with Duet (Alberto specifically) and it was so great! He was so patient, calm, professional, and very mellow which I will definitely need on our wedding day! We spent the afternoon in central park and he knew a lot of great places to go. We live in the city and go to the park all the time but he really had a lot of experience in the park and knew where there were good areas for pictures.

Question: Do you think its a good idea to get your makeup professionally done for casual/engagement photos?
I'm glad to hear you had so much fun, Mindy! Didn't I tell you it was great?? They knew all the great places to take pics in Central Park
FH and I took our pics last Tuesday, neither of us are 'picture people' and we had a blast! Alberto (and Eric for video in our case) were just so accomodating and sweet to work with!
Cannot wait to see your pics .. I'll post mine when we get them

Ok- to answer some of your questions:
1) outfit- we stressed about this too! We decided to both wear shades of blue since we love blue and both loook good in blue. I wanted to do a color since I am always wearing black in pictures and I don't love how I look in white shirts. I wore a bright cobalt blue long sleeve thin sweater (it was cool out) and black pants and he wore a navy short sleeved button down shirt and khaki pants. Alberto told me that the colors will look grey in the black & white camera but that's fine- that is black & white. I was going to wear a skirt but I am so glad I didn't- it was windy and I would have been so annoyed!
2) makeup- I thought about doing this too but decided to do it myself. I put a bit more on than I usually wear to even out my skin but Alberto told me that the lens that he has does that anyway so any blemishes or redness is removed by the camera. How nice is that!!!???!!!
I should have them in a few weeks and will post them.

Yes it was part of our package, and we really wanted it mostly because we wanted the picture for the reception (the poster board that your guests can sign at the wedding)
You can choose NOT to do it though, or can just have photos on casual day and no video. Some people pay a little extra and have it added on if you are getting something different than the standard photo/video package.
If you got the standard video/photo package with DUET, I think you pay a little less for if you DON'T get the casual day shoot -- but I'm not sure .. maybe the official DUET thread has that exact info

From what I was told you have a choice of the two pocket sized photo albums or a sign-in board. But if you dont ask, they dont mention it. It was only when we signed the contract that I saw another bride's sign in board that we inquired about it.
