and I have to say, they had clear wrapping on all of the gifts..........it was PERFECT! lol
the BM made a sheet of labels with all of the ladies names, and as we came in with the clear wrapped gifts, they would stick the label with your name on the gift so that everyone, including the bride, can walk around the present table and see what everyone got her.......it also caused a lot less confusion!! no missing cards, who got what, etc.....
anyone ever seen this before?

yep! a friend of mine did the same thing and I thought it was such an awesome idea. They let the bride open up the gifts from the bridal party and parents. The rest of the gifts were placed around the room and everyone just got up and looked. I thought this was such a great idea b/c the bride, as well as everyone else, got to talk more and just interact more. Plus, I think watching someone open up a bunch of gifts they know they are already getting is pretty boring. - jmo

i mean while she was walking around, people came up and pointed out their gifts........like I went up to show her flatware set taht me and my siser got her, as if she couldn't read the label....it wasn't like everyone was staring and watching her.....they had greek music in the background people were eating and drinking so nobody was really watching her walk around....lol

thats so funny bc i was just at my cousins baby shower this weekend and she did the same thing. i thought it was great....it saved all the time of opening gifts and you could actually go up and see what she got.

the biggest reason I think is for organization.....
my sisters shower and babyshower, random things were everywhere....like if someone had 3 boxes, only one card for the entire gift, you forget to write down every single thing they got......
with the labels, they made like 10 for each persons name so even if you got her 2 baskets and 5 boxes, each thing has your name on it so when she goes home, cards don't get misplaced and tossed around.

ETA: ORRRR a good idea is to have your BM make the labels, a bunch for each person, as AS you open the WRAPPED gifts, label them once you are done opening?? I might tell my mom and sister to do that............this way, I get to open, but the labels will be stuck on as I open them to avoid confusion?

lol i just realized id have to use clear wrapping otherwise the labels would come off when we unwrapped, im so quick to catch on lol
eta: yeah thats a good idea i think 10 labels per person is more than enough to put on as they come in and after you open

yeah I think I will do wrapping, but have labels ready to go for when I open them and put them on the side........
otherwise, i will be writing thank you cards and thanking people for the wrong thing lol
