Had my first dress shopping expedition!

My mother and sister (MOH) and I went bridal gown shopping yesterday. My First time trying on wedding dresses... I had other stuff to do, but Mom wanted me to go out with her, and when I finally said yes, she sprang on me where we were going. Needless to say I was a little unprepared for the excursion, lol. we ended up at David's Bridal in Lake Grove, and we looked at BM dresses, wedding gowns, and MOB dresses. I must have tried on 20 or 30 dresses lol, mom and sis just kept bringing more. Like i was a human barbie doll or something... it was fun. every dress i tried had something I liked and something i hated, so ultimately I didn't find 'the one', but then again I am really picky...

The only thing that annoyed me a little was that the welcome desk lady you have to sign in with asked for my wedding date and when I said 2009 she was all 'OMG you certainly start early.' and that whole thing... not too nice, but not blatantly snotty either... O well.

How exciting!!! Although you didnt find 'the one' at least you learned a couple things that you like and dont like!!

And I HATE when people give you that look when you say '2009'

I'm not sure if I am excited to go dress shopping or nervous...hate trying on clothes (especially when they don't fit!). I'll be majorly dieting around that time!

I love the green dress! That was adorable! I think two of the other dresses are ones that I've saved in my favorites!

I'm usually unhappy about dress shopping too.

One funny thing, though, was my sister and I worked out a system to get the dresses on and off fast. With that bra that comes down to your hips and the petticoat/slip thing that comes up to the bottom of your boobs, i found it irritating to get into my dress, so I would hang the dress up on the hook (Front of it to the wall), climb into it from the bottom, and then take it off the hanger and have her zip it up. to get out, she would unzip it, I would pull it up just enough to get it on the hanger, and then hang it up and crawl out through the bottom, lol... definitely funny!

I went dress shopping and I got the same reaction when I said 2009, so I'm not going anymore until 8 months before the wedding.
People for get that Jan 2,2009 is only the 2nd day into 09 so my wedding is not that far away.

People are a little annoying with the 09 thing. I keep thinking if you don't like it then pay for my wedding. I got that reaction a little at Fox Hollow when I looked but the East Wind said that people were already booking 2010 weddings.

I'm not going dress shopping until summer of 08. I'm afraid I will like something too and then be afraid that if I order too early something would happen or not be able to order when ready.

I agree - people need to keep they're negative opinons to themselves - but don't let it mess up your day! If you had an awsome day trying on dresses dont let anyone ruin it for you - epsically not ignorant people, Im also going to try and wait till summer '08 to try on dresses, but we'll see if that happens because im dying to put one on now!
