Had my first fitting and I was a little disappointed..
And before anyone asks, no I didn't take a camera because I lost over 20 pounds and I thought it would look awful but with the Maggie corset it fit perfectly. Oddly enough. I actually don't need ANY alterations except for the bustle. Even the length was perfect.
Anyway I was disappointed in the fact that the beading looked terrible. A few beads in the bust area were pulled off the thread and another was hanging. They promised me they would fix it but how did a brand new dress get so damaged? Also she told me there was lipstick (and blamed it on me) near the back but I don't see how that's possible since my lips weren't near the back.
Am I just overreacting or did you all have similar experiences?

I dont think you are overreacting at all. I would be very upset, especially if you paid for a new dress. I'm really sorry that happened! But they can fix it right?

Don't worry! You told them about the beads. Just stay on top so it is fixed. They can do a spot clean on the lipstick.

I also had a maggie with lots of beading. I think from all of the handling the beads get a little loose. they fixed mine before the wedding, don't worry.

I actually hooked a nail on a bead and did that to my own dress. It happened when it was being taken on or off over my head. After losing weight, I was able to step into the dress instead and that helped.
Phyllis from Gownfind fixed any loose threads/beading before I picked it up. It's still perfect, even after the wedding day.
Even if there are imperfections, you alone will be the only one who would notice. No worries.
