Had my PRK surgery!

Still healing... but I couldn't stay away from here too long!

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Chang at Stahl Eye Center. I'm experiencing less pain during the healing process than most patients do (as per Dr. Chang), but pain definitely comes and goes. I have to keep up with my drops and have to rest my eyes a lot. Catching up on some Bridezilla episodes... and half considering asking my brother to run to Target for me to get the DVD! My vision is right between 20/30 and 20/40 - which is better than it ever was without glasses or contacts - and of course it will only get better as I continue to heal. Plus, I still have a protective contact lense in my eye acting as a band aid while my cornea heals. Everyone at Stahl was WONDERFUL. For anyone considering LASIK or PRK, I highly recommend them.

Sorry if there are any typos here... my eyes are still burning and watering like crazy, which is normal with this surgery. I can't wait for it to stop, though! Not the best feeling in the world, but I can't wait to be 20/20 without glasses or contacts... especially on my wedding day!

P.S. - it's nice being catered to... flowers from my parents and a teddy bear and card from my FH! And being waited on hand and foot! I'm milking this!!!

Question: did you take a valium before the surgery? If you did, how long before.

I hope I have the same reaction.

I didn't take a vaium. The surgery was the easiest thing ever. No pain at all during the surgery. ZILCH. They even gave me a teddy bear to hold on to (actually, it was a hippo). There's more pain later in the day and today, but not during the surgery).

Are you having the actual surgery on Monday? Or just an appointment? Who is it with again?

had the same surgery and am totally loving it, i have to go for enhancement surgery again the end of june. i healed really well and had no pain like i thought i would.
doesn't it really bother you to come online? the light used to bother me from being online, but i guess it's hard to let go of this site!

good luck with your enhancement surgery! I hope it goes well! Where did you have yours done? The light bothers me a little bit, but my surgeon said this morning I'm doing better than 90% of patients that have PRK done. I really can't stay away from this site! When my eyes start burning and watering, I just close my eyes for a few minutes. I actually didn't even need to use the pain reliever drops they gave me! Not that I'm completely pain-free, but my doctor said to try not to use them since it slows the healing process.
