Hey Girls & Guys! I had my shower yesterday and it was so much fun. My FI and I live in S. Jersey but the majority of our friends and family are in Long Island. We went out to the North Fork so that I could get my trial hair done and then went shopping at the outlets in Riverhead. My FI rushed me out of the stores so that we could get back to his parents house in Albertson for his Dad's 'birthday lunch'. Surprise! When I got there, it was my shower!
My Dad & sister flew in from Los Angeles and my friends from work down here is S. Jersey even drove up!!! It was a great time and everything was beautiful. My bridesmaids gave out hand painted vases wrapped in tulle in diff. colors as favors.
The only funny mess-up is that the ribbons were dated 9/29/01 b/c my FI forgot that I would be riding in the MS150 bike race that day. They had to reschedule the entire shower!!
Good luck to all those with upcoming showers. I can't believe it is over. 5 weeks to go!!
(My Fiance is going on his 'bachelor weekend' this weekend so I can't wait to hear those stories!)

Had My Shower!
Sounds like a great day. Where are you getting your hair done. I am getting married on the north fork as well in June, and I live out of town and I have no idea of good salons. Do you have any reccomendations.

I had no idea where to get my hair done either. I had my first trial last weekend at Classic Look in Mattituck and it seems very good. I am going back in 3 weeks for another trial and a makeup trial. She is then going to straighten my hair the night before my wedding (for rehearsal dinner) and then do hair and makeup for the wedding day...all for $90! Not bad!
I had a trial at New Beginnings in Southhold and hated it. They didn't even attempt to make my hair look nice and the makeup girl was terrible! I could have done it better myself! They charged me $50.

Thanks for letting me know. If I end up getting ready out there I have no idea where to go. I went to a place in Wading River to get my hair cut and they did a terrible job. I will try Classic Look next time I venture up to LI. Luckily I still have nine months. Good luck! I would love to hear how your you hair (and wedding) turns out.
