Had my shower last night!!
I can't believe it's over...the whole night went by so fast!!
Our tradition is to do co-ed showers so it was basically a big party. FH put most of it together and it was at the American Legion in Wantagh which was very nice -- Roomy with good sized tables and a nice sized dance floor -- very important! The food was catered by Tony's in Lindenhurst and all the food excellent.
It was all so overwhelming... there were about 100 people there, alot of FH's family from North Carolina drove up, my mom came from Florida, etc I just didn't expect to see soooo many people!!
We all danced for hours and had a blast. Then afterwards a bunch of people came back to Jim's house to open the presents with me. We don't sit there and open gifts at the party (parties are for partying!!
). We got tons of stuff from our registries -- though mostly from our BB&B registry rather than the Fortunoff's .
We have lots of fondue sets and smores kits for some reason!
AND THE CAKE!! Oh my goodness, the cake was gorgeous-- I have to find a pic to show you guys. It was a Black Forest cake so it was to die for, but it was soooo beautiful!!!
My FMIL got the favors in keeping with our theme they were little picture frames in the shape of a castle. They got us His and Her wishing wells which were sooooo cute!!! Jim gots tons of little tools and gadgets and other fun guy stuff... he even had fun opening his gifts. FMIL also sent out with our invites a request for recipes from everyone so we got a bunch of these cute recipe cards in cute box!! I loved that!!
Sorry no pics yet, I forgot my camera so I have to wait to get pics from other people!
So that's it. I can't believe my bridal shower is over and I only have 47 days to go til the wedding! Time is FLYING by... before I know it I'll be laying on the beach in Bora Bora a married woman!!!
