Had REMOTE START install now I have issues - HELP!!!

I had my car at Acura today I have an 04 MDX. I had them install a remote start in my car cause its freakin freezing when I go out and with a 2 year old and a newborn I dont want to freeze them...

My issue. I get in the car after they are done (about 6:15 tonight) and the monitor to my daughters portable DVD player doesnt work. It worked when I dropped off the car cause she watched Baby Einstein all the way to Bayshore. I figured something was wrong with the machine and I would figure it out when we got home. BUT then I was driving home (mind you its a 40 minute ride for me) and I tried to set my cruise control and it wouldnt work.

Now to me it sounds like something shorted when they put the RS in and thats causing my cruise control to not work but would that also have blown my daughters monitor on her DVD player??? Makes sense doesnt it?

Any ideas?

It may not have been blown, but maybe they forgot to reconnect them. Did you call them? You should definitly bring it back to have them fix it.

I did call them but no repair men were around. My other issue is Im having a baby On or Before 1/14... Im VERY pregnant and Hillside Acura is 40 mins from my house. I really shouldnt drive ALL THE WAY back out there for something THEY screwed up.

I had a remote start installed last christmas in my Honda Pilot, but we did not have it done by Honda. We took it to the local speaker/radio/car accessory store.

Anyway, I too had issues driving away. My remote car lock button would not work correctly if at all and the interior light would not go on at one point, then would not shut off while driving. I took it right back the next day so they could figure out what they did. It took two more times and them calling the manufacturer who was only there M-F 9-5 to figure it out.

End of story... there were wires crossed and some do-hickey not plugged in right, but they finally got it.... pain in the cohones.

Take it back to them! It may be inconvenient but what else can you do? Is there a closer Acura to you? Will they authorize another installer to look at it?

My buttons work fine. I think... the guy who installed it never left me any kinda instructions. Im calling in the AM... The RS was installed THROUGH Acura but it was done by an outside company.

My issue besides the cruise control is my daughters port DVD player. It works, turns on but the screen, although it says its on remains black, the sound doesnt work but the DVD spins. It worked fine before I dropped it off. I dont feel like driving ALL the way out there AGAIN. I hope there is someone who lives in the area and can bring it out to Acura for me cause Im way too big for this BS.

No, there is no closer Acura, Honda yes but no Acura... Smithtown is 28 miles and Hillside is 32...

I just hope they can fix all that is not right.

I don't know much about the portable DVD's but does it work outside of the car? Can you plug it in somewhere else to test it?

Regardless, they need to fix the cruise control. Its probably a crossed wire or something computer related.

Can you take it to another dealer? My dad works at Smithtown Acura.

No, the DVD player monitor doesnt work out of the car... something got screwed up.

Something has to be fixed... wait, all of it has to be fixed lol

I dont think another Acura dealer wants it, I bought it from Hillside.
