Had that 'too much $ conversation'

I'm sure if I had a dime everytime someone posted this I wouldn't need to do so but... I am finishing my last semester in college, am 29, have had a job in the same corporation for the passed 8 years (restaurant industry), have a three year old daughter and am looking for a LEGITIMATE work offer that will not require me to hire a babysitter for another three days a week. If the working on-line thing weren't so shady it would be perfect. Anyone know of anything? I am great with hair and makeup... honestly .... but have no license...have been a care-provide almost my ENTIRE teenage life. I have a 3 year old who is my life that would come along for any babysitting jobs.
Does anyone know anything?

how about doing a daycare at home or well not like a big daycare but have a few kids to babysit during the day and this way you spend time with your daughter too.

don't you need permits for that?

yes, but it's not too hard. i think you may have to take classes to become licensed and then go through inspections. but, you can also do just regular baby-sitting for a group and have like a pseudo-day care without actually calling it a day care.

I believe in NYS you can watch 2 children (not including your own) without being licensed; that may be a way to start until you become licensed. Growing up, my neighbor across the street ran a licensed day care out of her home and was able to raise 3 kids comfortably as a single mom. If you enjoy kids it could be a good thing to look into.

Here's a link with more info

If you have the space & patience to be a daycare provider-go for it. My sons provider lives VERY well. We pay almost 1K per month, but to me it's worth it b/c he loves it there and I trust her.
