I would have spit in her face and called it a day. NOT many people like me out there that disrespect in-laws, but her rudeness and just the way she demands things were TOTALLY outta hand. And you enjoy your first Christmas together as a married couple. Children or NO children, you do it in the comfort of YOUR own home!!!!

Oh my goodness...this is absolutely insane! You need to set a precedent and your FH needs to be on your side. if you let her get away with everything now it will never stop. It may be hard, but she has to accept that you two are starting your own lives together!

holy crap. all i gotta say is this is the beginning of a looooong life with FH and his mom. so be prepared to stand your ground.

i know others may not agree with me, but i guess i come from the planet of 'i ain't taking no shiit' but when it comes to MIL's like that, sometimes you just gotta NOT bite your tongue and stand up for yourself hard core. like when she said 'she leaves when i say so' i know myself too well, i would have flipped the fuk out, cause you are NOT her daughter, and you can do whatever you want. unfortunately this behavior will get worse as the wedding draws near, and i only hope that when you stand your ground, FH backs you up 100%. cause if he backs down to her (which i'm sure she's totally used to, and that's why she doesn't like you cause you don't let it all slide), that will make things worse.

don't you just love inlaws? I think that each day I get closer and closer to packing up our stuff and moving to Cali. I cant stand my inlaws. They are the most selfish people I have ever met, but they claim to have so much wisdom and love. I cant stand how my FH puts up with all their BS.


I am in for a hell of a lifetime with them. All I can think of is moving away whenever I am near them though!

I agree WOW she definitely sounds like a nut and she definitely needs to cut the cord.
Im sorry that you have to deal with those issues but just think about how much better you will feel when you stick it to her next year

no way, all his friends, GOOD childhood friends said that she has been like this since they were little and it keeps getting worse with her. if i didnt love him so much i would of left a long time ago!!! i plan on moving FAR away from her after i finish school here. but i still have about two years for that

You really need to do something about her...It will only get worse. She is 100% wrong and wow really can't believe her behavior. But after a while it is only your FH's fault for letting her get away with this behavior. He needs to speak up and he should never allow his mother to speak to you or your parents that way. He can't just let his mother walk all over you and treat people like that. She is not a child, he can talk to her like an adult. FMIL is nothing like that, we have a great relationship. But if she were to do anything he would say something to his mother right then and there. He got mad once and said something to her, and honestly it was nothing bad at all. She only asked me if i was going to get my hair done for a wedding we were all going to. I had told her a few days earlier that i wanted to get my roots then but Fh didn't know that. He turned around and was like 'LEAVE HER ALONE' her hair looks perfectly fine and she doesn't need to do anything. He kept going on that it was like she was trying to say that my hair looked bad and i should consider doing it, i didn't take it that way though. But it upset him and he didn't like thinking that his mom was saying anything negative to me. This was a small thing and not even a problem, FH made it a problem lol, but honestly i really appreciated how he stuck up for me and told her thats it i dont wanna hear you say this to her again. It was sweet even though it was uncalled for lol.
