haggling on dress prices...

has anyone done it?? i've been looking (i decided on getting a new dress...im selling the old one) and i found beautiful ones by the designer Augusta Jones. but they are way out of my price range...but I'm wondering how much the places would be willing to budge...

how did you guys do it? how much were you able to get taken off?? please help!! i need advice :)

the dress i loved was 1800...and the guy said he could do like 1600 and acted like he was doing me a major favor. i almost cried when i saw the price tag. hahaha

Re: haggling on dress prices...

depends on where you get it from...If its at a big bridal store they probably wont bc they know they can def get it for the original price, elsewhere maybe. But also keep in mind the price for alterations bc this will also cost a couple hundred dollars

Re: haggling on dress prices...

I'm getting my dress from RK bridal. This is what you do, find your dress anywhere online at a cheaper price, (and they are out there!) And if RK bridal carries your dress they will match the price you found on the internet, if they arent already cheaper at RK... They carry thousands of dresses from different designers and have sooooooo many dresses I found mine there and am getting a discount because I found it lower online, and their flat fee for all the alterations you will need is $350, sooo my dress with alterations is under $800!!!!

The weekend crowd stinks there because its soooo busy and watch out for the bridezillas...

Curiosity, anyone else going with RK?

Re: haggling on dress prices...

im a total sucker and when they tell me a price i just say 'ok ' buuuuuuuuuuut... i learned how to haggle...lol... the woman offered to let me buy the sample which had only been on the rack for one month.. i saved $250. then i said if i get all my girls to buy their dresses and my moms dress is there anything else you can do with the price.. she said not really but i can take another $ 50 off... so i said SOLD!... theres ways to work with them. ask if you can buy the sample.
