haggling with bridal store

i know we are supposed to have all our undergarments for our first fitting etc.. but i don't know which bra to get - i may be able to pull off a regular strapless (my preference) but i may need something with a lower back. Question is i don't want to get 'stuck' buying it at the salon if they jack up everything insanely. Any suggestions? thanks

when my dress came in, I went to the store to try it on with a regular bra. once I had it I knew what kind of bra I needed.

you should be fine just going to try it on with a strapless or any type of bra, it's not a fitting after all.

ETA: I just saw that this is your 1st fitting. that being the case, you should definitely have a bra for it. can you go try on the dress before your 1st fitting so you know what to get?

I say bring one with you, buy it at Kohls or something, then return it if you don't need it. Beats paying $$$$$ for it at the shop if you need it at the 11th hour!

i agree with naunie....buy one at kohls...even if you return it immediately and do buy a more expensive one....this way you could even buy 2...the one/style you prefer and the one you think you may possibly need so you can see the difference...it could mean a difference in alterations (need/don't need as well because the right bra can shift the shapes around)....and inthe end, you can return both to kohls and buy a different one anywhere.

that's a great idea! thank you. Does Kohls have good long line bras?

i haven't been in there in ages, but they usually have a decent selection of bras. it's worth a try!!
