Okay, this may be totally Taboo and I have a feeling I'll get a lot of different responses but.....has anyone ever heard of anyone doing their own hair the day of the wedding? Here's the thing, my hair is SO easy, ridiculously so. I've done updo's in all the weddings I've gone to and have it down to an art with the bobby pins, hairspray, etc. plus I plan on wearing my veil the whole time on the top of my head which would pretty much cover up the do anyway. Is this completely unheard of?????

Re: Hair
I don't think it is unheard of at all. My girlfriend did her own hair and makeup for her wedding and she looked beautiful! She had her hair is a simple twist and she wore her vail all night too. If it easy for you then go for it! My hair on the other hand is a diffrent story-I have natually curly hair that is a Nightmare

Re: Hair
It sounds okay to me- I am totally inept with my own hair and would never trust myself, but if you feel comfortable, why spend the$$$?

Good for you!! Why spend the money on someone else doing it?! You may not like what they do anyway!

Re: Hair
Definitely do it yourself! I'm going to be doing the same, but I am not good at doing my hair. I'm only doing this because our day starts early (pictures at 10). I figured I'm better off with so-so hair and well rested.
But if you can do it well yourself, go for it. It's costly, and you'll be spending money on so many other things!

Totally do it yourself!
Were I skilled in such arts, I would. Unfortunately, I have no gifts in that department and have very curly hair that needs to be tamed by professional hands...lol

Re: Hair
I almost did my hair for my wedding. In all honesty, I could have done the exact thing that the hairdresser did to my hair. I decided to have someone else do it because I just did not think that on my wedding day I wanted to deal with it.

Re: Hair
If you feel confident about it then by all means...that's awesome. I know I def. can't. When my hair doesn't come out the way I like I get frustrated and put it in a ponytail.

Re: Hair
I say go for it! I'm going to do my own make-up (I've done it everyday since high school, so who knows my face better than me?). I always like the way I come out in pictures at various events, and that just frees up some money to use elsewhere. I still haven't figured out what to do about hair, but if it came down to it I could do that myself too.

Go for it! You are very lucky to be able to do it yourself.
I wish I could do the same. I am really fretting over the whole hair and makeup thing and how much it costs. I can't do my own hair but I'm seriously thinking of doing my own makeup b/c I think I can do as good a job as anyone.
