i'm little confused about a situation. awhile ago i dropped a hairdresser i was going to regularly. She lived in PA & commuted to LI only on saturdays so it was hard to get an appt with her. so i stopped going to her. I was really happy with her for the most part. i remember her doing my hair for a wedding & she did a great job, i got so many compliments.
So i heard through word of mouth she moved back to LI & was thinking of having her do my hair for the wedding. i called her salon & asked if she worked there still & they said yes.
my question is do you think it would be weird to call her after all this time? she was really reasonable with prices & i'm pretty sure she would give me a great price. i mean she would be making money. my friend suggested making an appt. with her & talking to her.
any suggestions? should i call her or find somebody else?? how would you handle or approach her ?? phone? in person?

Re: Hair
I would go to her. I think it's weird how we think we have this relationship with our hairdresser and we feel bad if we stop going to the same person (seriously: the hairdresser my parents and grandparents used to use started CALLING THEM when they didn't show up monthly...but most people are not so crazy).
I would say call her up and ask. If she asks, or if you want to say, just tell her the truth--that you had a hard time coming in to see her!
Remember: as much as we talk to our hairdressers, it's a business transaction, not an ex boyfriend.
