For those who are having your bm's get their hair done elsewhere (not with you) are you specifying how they should have it done or are you giving them free reign to do whatever they want... just curious... thanks

i told my girls they all had to come to an agreement, either they all have to wear it up or all wear it down, their choice.

Re: hair
im not sure if all my BMs will be getting their hair done with me yet. if they DONT.. i will guide them in the direction that i want.. i already told them NO slicked back hairdoos.. lol.. so to answer your question: i will be pointing them in the direction that i want to see and, i have even saved a few pictures for each of them hoping that they will like the pics i show them. theres a nice way to say it. ooo this would look great on you! what do you think.. hehe..
ETA: my bridesmaids are all my young cousins. we have that kind of relationship where i can tell them things like this and i know they wont get offended. they actually even asked me how i would like them to wear their hair.. i guess it would depend on your relationship with your BMs.

Re: hair
I plan on paying for their hair as part of their BM gift since I would like it to be a way that I want it, not exactly sure how I would want it yet tho

Re: hair
my concern is ..and no offense to anyone who likes this, but I hate the poof that some girls wear in the front. of their hair. I have friends that like it as big as they can get it. I have seen bm's who have that and it would ruin my pics. FH hates this hairstyle and it just urks him when he sees it.
This is my one bridezilla area... they can wear their own shoes, i don't care what they do with their nails, but the hair im concerned... i may just pay for everyone to get it done with me so I can keep an eye on it all. It would be a big financial sacrifice for me, but we will see what happens...

it was funny b/c we had this convo a few weeks ago, after my hair trial....the girl asked how many bm and what style i was looking for.....so i turn to my sister (moh) and tell her what i wrote above and my sisters response was 'well i want my hair down so that's what everyone else will have to do' so in a way my sister will be pointing all the girls in the direction she wants!

Re: hair
I personally think it's rude to tell someone how to wear their hair. I want my BMs to be comfortable and happy with how they look...and I think it's impossible to get everyone to agree on a style. And since they are paying for it, I wouldnt feel comfortable telling them what to do

I can see what you mean by rude, but they are your pictures so you should have at least some say

Maybe instead of paying for them to get their hair done, or telling them how to do it, just tell them about this one thing that irks you. If you don't care otherwise how their hair looks, they should be able to sacrifice their speed bump as my FH calls it for your special day. Especially if you're being so flexible on everything else.

Hahah speed bump...thats great. You make a good point. We will see. I'm going to check with my bm's this weekend when we have lunch to see how everyone feels about getting it done together at the hotel. 5 out of 9 have already said they'd rather do it that way... so we will see

This is a good idea. I just know from my own experience, I hated when a bride told me how to wear my hair. She made everyone wear french twists and I looked awful...actually several people looked awful.
I think if you want to force someone to wear their hair in a certain away, then you need to at least pay for it.

Re: hair
I am pretty easy going with the hair-and since they're paying for their dresses and shoes, they have free reign to do as they like. They can go to the salon or do it themselves. I have plenty of hot rollers they can use if need be

Re: hair
i was thinkin of telling my girls just to keep hair down and straight...i just know that is easy for everyone to do themselves, or go get it blown out on their own. but i guess it depends the dress we select. so plans may change. but i think saying straight down is the easiest approach.....of course until we start dancing and everyone pulls out there rubberbands. lol
