Hair and Makeup

I had asked this on the vendor page and didn't quite get the responses I had hoped for...

I'm trying to book at least 2 hair people and 2 makeup people for the morning of my wedding. People would probably be getting ready at about 5-5:30 and there are about 8-10 people.

Maxiums will come to my hotel but they want 175 for hair and 175 for makeup for me and 85 each service for the girls....not to mention the 35% service charge to the salon. (forget tip at those prices)

I can't ask my girls to cover this- at most they were going to cover their hair for 60 and tip and part of my gift was going to be the makeup (tho they don't know this). I'm desperate enough to pay this right now and just ask the girls to give me 70-80 each!

Any suggestions? TIA!

I also paid for all the girls to have their hair done (updos) at $25 each only!! They all had long hair (halfway down their back or to their waist). I found this Indian woman who came to the hotel at 5:30am and did their hair. For the girls who had their hair down to their waist she charged $35. Her name is Archita.

The girls did their own makeup since they were all pretty decent at it.



I used Oksana for my makeup and Hair Genie for my hair.

The girls I am using charge $75 for an updo and $40 for a blow out. If you want there info let me know.

As of now, I'm going to go to my usual salon and they'll just charge double their usual updo price so 60 will become 120....they use outside makeup people so this should stay at 50.

I know that I'll be happy with their work and I can relax- that's worth a little extra $$!! Plus, it's not too high, and I know some of my girls will insist on covering their whole hair cost since their dresses were below 150. I'll cover the increase for those who can't afford it.

The salon said that they'll need about 2-3 hair people and 2 makeup people- if anyone has any tips on people who can provide that I'd still keep them in mind along with the other tips I got here.
