I just got back from the beauty parlor, and inquired about hair and makeup for the wedding day , I was quoted 200.00 is that too much? average?any suggestions where else I should look for my hair and makeup in Nassau County, south shore? This quote was from Haireffex in Bellmore.
IMO~ $200 is a lot to pay. I'm paying $100 for my make-up and $50 for my hair. You just may want to check around before you commit to one person.
Take into consideration that depending on the day or time of you wedding, the salon might not be open when you need your makeup done, so someone may have to come to you or open the salon for you, which definitely costs more than during regular business hours. Salon G in Bellmore charges $100 for an updo (or $75 for half updo), and $75 for makeup, and they are opening the salon for me at 6am!
My wedding is on a Sunday afternoon in March 2004, the salon is closed so she will be coming to the house or the catering hall. (Chateau Briand)
