HAIR AND MAKEUP AT HOUSE OR SALON?

I was very curious about what you are doing for this. I have a hair and makeup trial at a salon in Forest Hills on Wed and they said that I would come there the morning of the wedding for my hair and makeup. If I like them, I'm planning on booking them. But, should I go there in the morning of my wedding day? It's only 15 minutes from my apartment. What are you doing? Are they coming to your house or are you going to the salon?

I am going to go to the salon. I feel like if I go to the salon and something happens to go wrong, they will have more tools there to fix it rather than saying ' I wish I had my _____ but I left it at the salon) But I am just a worry wort like that.

I am having my hair done at the salon and my makeup at my catering hall ( where I am also getting ready) I think....

i fyou are having many people's hair done...the salon is probably the better option...I got nervous when we were 15 min late trying to get all the hair done...


but it is nice being in the comfort of your parents home (or wherever) and you can run around doing other things...

My hair/makeup person is coming to my MOH's house the morning of the wedding. I liked the idea of being in the comfort of home...I know I'm going to be a bundle of nerves!!

BTW, would you mind sharing the name of your Forest Hills salon? I'm shopping for a new place-the stylist I've used for years has 'retired'.

I am having hair and makeup done in my home. I feel its more convenient and secondly, I'm getting married on a holiday and most salons are closed anyway.

for my friend's wedding--6 of us went to the salon to get our hair done-there was 2 people doing hair-3 people per hairdresser.....it was about 15 minutes from where we lived so it was convenient.......her makeup lady came to her house to do her makeup, her moms, and her 2 sisters---it worked out perfect!! her ceremony was at 1 and our hair appointments started at 8:00

one more thing! we were the only ones in the salon at that time--much more relaxing!

I think I will get my hair done at the salon. Not only would the salon have all of the equipment and products if something goes wrong, you need to figure that if your bridal party is having their hair done, the salon can work on several people at the same time. Basically, you will be saving a lot of time. I am also considering having my make-up done at the salon because the lighting in my apartment is terrible.

By the way, where are you having your hair and make-up trial done in Forest Hills? I live in Forest Hills and I am beginning my search for hair and make-up very soon!

I have 2 girls and one makeup girl coming to the Grand Hyatt the morning of the wedding.
They're all showing up at 10:00. Plenty of time to get 5 girls done by 2:00.

Our ceremony is in Manhattan and it'll be January. I didn't want to schlep around in the cold plus the salons hear really charge an arm and a leg. The 2 salons nearest to my apartment charge $125 just for a cut I can only imagine what they'd want for wedding day hair.
