09er Crashing! I have just started looking into hair and makeup and, as expected, it is a bit pricey, and since my wedding is all the way in Setauket, a lot of the companies are asking for 5 people minimum My question is whether or not I am expected to pay for my bridesmaids hair and makeup or are they expected to pay? Or do I offer them the option of getting it done and let them know what the price is? I am not sure what is customary or not?

I don't have the money to pay for everyone. I made it optional and everyone opted out. I don't want to force an unneccessary expense on them. One is flying in from Fla, the other is pregnant with twins and one complains she is always broke and the last works 3 jobs to make ends meet. I am using Peter James Salon in Holbrook, not too far from Setauket. We are staying near there and starting there but I am traveling there anyway. They don't require a min and they were the cheapest around. I have used them as my salon for years but I thought they would be pricey but it is $45 for the trial and $65 and up for the wedding day. make up is$45. The BM's are $55 and up. They also do wedding/bridal party pkg at $125pp and do off premise as well. I have the price sheet in front of me. Children were cheaper, I think $35.
