Hair and Makeup for your bridesmaids

I've been a bridesmaid quite a few times, and everytime I have gotten my hair and makeup done. Now that it's my turn, I feel bad asking everyone to do the same. Are you asking everyone to get both hair and makeup done? Or you leaving it up to the bridesmaids? I'm having my trial soon and my girl quoted me 150 for bridesmaid hair and makeup. Ive paid around that and even more than that in the past, so I didnt think that was terrible. Thoughts?

I think that's a great price and I agree, it feels weird asking them to do it, but i will be. I want everyone to look beautiful and their best and similar. If I told my FSIL she could do her hair however she wants, she would come with unwashed, ratty, gross hair (she's in a trailer trash phase right now). There's nothing wrong with asking them to get the whole works done. I'm sure you'll have to do the same for their weddings in the future.

I will be paying for my bridesmaids hair as part of their gift, however, as far as makeup goes I'm going to tell them they can either get it done by the person I have and pay for it or they can do it themselves if they don't want to pay the money.

I decided to pay for hair and makeup for them as part of their gift. I want them to feel as beautiful as they are and although I rather give more tangible items and it's costing me quite a bit, they deserve it. After everything they have done by being a part of my wedding I think it's the least I can do for them...

It is definitely hard to ask people to spend a certain amount of money. I agree that $150 seems like a fair price though!

I gave my bridesmaids the option. They all decided to get their hair done and two out of the six of them are doing their own makeup. I’m planning to pay for their manicures & pedicures as part of their gift.

Thank you everyone for your advice!! I think I'm going to give them the option, and see what comes of it. I'm the last one of my friends to get married so I did all of this for their weddings, but for some reason I feel weird asking it in return! LOL

The girl I'm going with quoted $85 hair & $85 make-up. I'm going to give everyone the option with the make-up. Most of them have said they are perfectly OK with the cost. Just communicate with them upfront and let them know what you want!

I sent them all an email last night and they all were fine with paying for the hair and makeup! A few of them were like 'Ummm you did for my wedding, why wouldn't I for yours?' lol. So I feel better now. I do think I'm going to take care of the tip for all of them though.

Oh that's good! I've found that asking them straight up is so much easier than wondering what they'll think. I stressed myself out so much about the dress and who would like it, until I finally just asked them all!

I am paying for my girls mani and pedi the day before and their make-up the day of. When I am going for my hair they will be paying for their own. Unfortunately I could not pay for it all but i tried. =\

I'm asking my girls to get their hair done and make up is up to them, luckily they all thought I would tell them exactly what style their hair needed to be so they were happy when I told them it was their choice lol but I'm letting them price around and use whoever they like because I love my hair stylist and we're starting pictures at 10 am so it probably isn't feasible for all 6 of us to use the same girl and not be stressed out!

I don't think that's a bad price at all. I only have MOH and that's my sister so I'm going to cover her and my mom's hair & makeup, but if I was having a larger bridal party I would probably expect them to pay for it themselves, just as I would if I was a bridesmaid for somebody. If it helps, I work in a hair salon and a majority of the time the girls pay for themselves.

That sounds too good to be true. $200-$250 a girls is what I have been quoted. Trust me I've been doing my research

She is my FSIL's friend and she gave me a discount. But a lot of the places I called were about 180-200 for the bridesmaids.
