Hair and makeup frustration

Hair and makeup frustration

So both my mother and FMIL refuse to have their hair or makeup done by a pro. I have three girls, with me that's 4. A lot of the quotes I am getting have a minimum of 5 people.

Plus, I really don't like the way my mom does her makeup but I don't think I can tell her that. She has already said 'I never like it when people do my makeup because I do a better job'. But she still uses bright blue eyeshadow!

Maybe you can try to guilt her into it and tell her that you need to have a minimum of 5 people.

Maybe ask her if she will at least do a trial so maybe she will fall in love and it will not be an issue!

I tried guilting her into it last night, no good.

But maybe it might be worth her having a trial, I just don't know if she would even go for that.

You can see pics of her makeup in my FB album (navy blue dress in Mel's wedding). Honestly, what do you think?

OMG this is MY MOTHERRRRR! My mother loves blue shadow! LMAO!

My makeup person does not have a minimum, but she does charge $150 for the bride. I know 2 of my BM's likely will have their makeup done that day, so she will make a good amount in a few short hrs.

As for hair, I have not explored that yet but am paying for the BM's hair most likely, so I will be able to make a minimum for sure. I already asked my mom if she would want to come get her hair done by the professional, and she said 'No, I'll go to Lemon Tree.'

who are you using? I feel in love with this makeup artist in the city, but I think her prices are really high (of course).

Well you look beautiful, but you aren't nearly as pasty pale as I am, so we will have to see. But you have given me good recommendations in the past...

I dont recommend unless I REALLY like someone/something. I hate letting people down. Big fault.

Your mom can sit right besides my mom for makeup. My mom can't afford to have hers done though, *sighs*

My stepsister used lolalovesmakeup...none of us used her for our makeup so she didn't have a minimum

Re: Hair and makeup frustration

when i worked at the salon we had mom's like that a few lines we used were

1) make up artist can do you makeup so that it works with the flashes of the professional photographer. which is 1/2 true lol but 100% true when it comes to having your make up air brushed

2) 'this is the biggest day in your daughters life and a lot of eyes are on you too, dont you wanna look your absolute best for her'

3) its less stress the morning of

4)you can bring her to an stylist, show them her fancy look and have them just freshen it up, so she still feels herself.

5)have her go for a trial and take 100 pics after so they do the same thing the day of, or at least have her just try the trial
THEN post her pic on here, and every one of us will gush over her and she will feel like a million bucks and feel ok about getting her hair and make up.

6)find pics of celebs with her style hair, and around her age, and show her how they look. my mom's go to gal is diane keaton, i cant tell you how many times shes showed me a pic of her and said 'i wanna look like that'
