Hair and Makeup help in Suffolk

I know a lot of people post about great hair and makeup vendors.... but I'm having trouble finding one that will be affordable and close enough to home for me and my bridal party to go to the salon the morning of the wedding.

We will have too many people at my parents' house that morning, so hair and makeup have to be done at a salon.

I've talked to vendors who charge around 100-150 for trials and day-of. Anyone know of someone good who charges less and is in the stony brook area?

I live in Port Jeff and I'm using Denise Lee Salon in Setauket - off of rte 25A at Nicolls Road. The hair trial was about $90 and the day of cost is $125 b/c they are opening 4 hours early on a Saturday morning and brining in 2-3 associates to work on my BM hair.

The salon is a vendor on LIW and I had Lisa (one of the owners, her husband is the one who ansers the phone) do my hair and my pictures are in my community album! She was fantastic and worth every penny!!!!

If you want further feedback, FM CJB88 - she used her for her wedding in April, but did half up-half down and she reviewed the salon in her wedding review.

you can try MAC at the mall for make up.

have you tried your usual hair salon that you go?

you're wedding is in a month. i wish i could be of more help!!!!

I went to my usual hair dresser for my trial a few days ago. I booked her for myself, my mom and whole wedding party.....BUT the hair trial was TERRIBLE. i can't use her! Wasted a lot of money and time and am now scrambling to find someone

even though their prices are way more than i wanted to pay, your hair looked gorgeous and so did hers.....i might have to schedule a trial...

denise lee was great... i didnt even do a trial! and it was such a pleasure to hang out there all morning... it is nice and cozy in there... we had a ton of fun!! I only wish i booked there the day before too to get facials and massages and manicures and pedicures... there was another bridal party inthere (i knew the bride too!) doing that for their wedding the next day and they were having so much fun!
