Hair and Makeup trial yesterday..NO PICS..want to know why?

I really don't want this post to be deleted, so I'm going to try to separate what happened to me yesterday from my emotions. I called for a hair and makeup trial around July 6th. I asked her what is the earliest time I could come in for an appointment and she said she would work with my schedule and was extremely accomodating. We set a time for 7am, August 13th. I received an e-mail confirmation promptly with the subject line 'Confirming Trial hair and makeup for Monday, August 13, 7:00 am and Directions' after we spoke on the phone. On the 11th, I e-mailed her re-confirming the appointment saying that if there is rain we may not be able to make it (I was scared of another flood). The next day she responded that if I need to cancel, to call her and gave her number.

Fast forward to yesterday...
FH and I left Queens at 6am to make it to the salon at 7am. We sat outside the salon. There was no one inside. 7:10am...she still had not arrived, so I called the number she gave me the night before and it went straight to voicemail. I left a message saying I had been waiting outside for 10 minutes and no one has shown up. I keep calling her and the salon for the next 30 minutes. At 7:40am I send her an e-mail saying that I'm on a tight schedule and that I cannot wait much longer. At 7:45am, FH and I decide to leave. We drive an hour back to our apartment and I do my hair and makeup myself for my e-shoot.

7:02 PM I receive a voicemail on my phone stating that she is waiting at the salon and she doesn't know whether or not I cancelled and if something happened to me and for me to please call her back. I call her back, and it went straight to voicemail. I left a message stating that our appointment was at 7am.

As of right now, I still have not received any response to my voicemails or e-mail. I guess you can tell how I feel right now.

right now I'm waiting for her to get back to me. I've left voicemails for her 3 times now and have e-mailed her once...depending on what she says I will consider having another trial with her. It would take more than a little to regain my confidence in her, though..so I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Don't even bother with her any more. If she can't keep a trial straight and hasn't gotten back to you then she isn't someone you want to do business with. All you need is for her to get the wrong time on your wedding day. You're better off going with someone else.

I'm so sorry this happened to you! I feel like she knew it was 7 am though because you said you had so many confirmations with her. Some people just really s u c k!

i wouldn't even give a second chance, it's something to stand someone up for a trial~bigger picture, your wedding day~i wouldn't take the risk, but that's just me

that is really awful

that is sooooo unprofessional! I wouldn't give her a second chance at all!! IF she was really concerned about loosing you as a client, then she would have contacted you.

There are so many other great vendors out there......I would try someone else.

I think she forgot and then tried to play it off like she messed up on the time...so unprofessional. I would have been FURIOUS and she should do y our trial for free IF you go back to her.

well...it's her loss then...guess she doesn't need the money that bad. Better to spend your hard earned money on someone EAGER to work and do a good job.

sorry to crash...

i had made an appointment for a hair trial with a vendor who worked VERY far from me (over an hour) -- i went to the salon..... in the POURING rain.... got completely lost -- when i finally got there, i saw from my car that the whole place was dark and there was no one inside. silly me forgot the stylist's phone number at home so i couldn't call. frustrated, i went home --

later, i found out that the salon had actually moved just down the block, and that there was a sign on the door (which i didn't see since it was pouring like crazy).

anyways -- i decided to give her another chance, as frustrating as the situation was -- and i am SO glad that i did. it was a simple miscommunication and she ended up doing a beautiful job at my wedding!

i'm thinking we might be talking about the same person here.... and i'm sorry you had to go through such an inconvenience -- but maybe try giving her a second chance (after you speak with her) if you think it will be worth it

Um, yeah, me too and im also pretty sure she knew D A M N well what time you set it up for
she probably didnt feel like driving since she lives in another area

Hey what are the rules.. we cant name names of companies if we have a bad review? Just curious and is there anything else I should know so I dont say anything I shouldnt..??
