How far in advance do you start to book hair and makeup trials?

I am going to book it the next time I get my hair done. Do you have someone in mind? If they are really popular I would go early that way you know what you like dont like. And then you wont have to worry about it. Cross it off the list HTH

I know I started a thread with this Q awhile ago- but I can't find it anywhere. Basically, the girls said that as long as you have your dress ad an idea of how you want your hair it's ok. Besides, if its someone popular, your date may be booked and they wont hold your date until you've had your trial.

Thanks girls - I don't have anyone in mind right now but I'm getting a bit antsy b/c it seems like all the good ones get booked early. My wedding is not until March 2008, so I'm afraid to book anyone too early (just in case I change my mind).
Are you generally allowed to cancel a booking w/o being penalized?

it depends who you book with, but normally in order to book you need to leave a deposit

The people I'm using are booked for so many days next year it's ridiculous...the sooner, the better. Most people take money as a deposit to hold the date.

I already had mine, and not sure about what would happen with your deposit if you cancel, this depends on the MU artist, some will keep it though

well before i even had a trial i knew i wanted my make up artist and compared her work for a while before i booked...if you LOVE it then go with it, i mean not like you wont be happy with it...plus alot of ppl dont want to pay for trial after trial after trial
