I just asked my hair person what time me and my girls would have to get up to get our hair done the day of the wedding. I would have 3 maybe 4 girls (which includes myself) all to be done by 8:30am. My hair person just told me we would have to be up at 3am! Is that normal? 1.15 hours per person essentially? How long is it taking your hair person day of for how many girls?

I think the time sounds normal- meaning an hour or so on each person- but longer on you.. but- that is INSANE to get up at 3 am!!
Can you look into getting an additional person so, you can 'sleep in' til 5 or 6??

That is the normal time but most places will have more than one person doing hair so that it doesn't take that long... That is sooo early to get up. You will be so tired.

Holy Cow!! Yeah I think that's about right time wise especially depending on how much hair everyone has but my god I'd have some bags under my eyes getting up that early and like you're really going to have an easy time sleeping the night before anyway!!!

It is a normal amount of time but can't they give you 2 stylists to do 2 people at a time?

Yup, that sounds about right. Tarale told me to get up at 4am for myself and my sister. Mine will take longer since I will have extentions, and she said it's always good to pad the time to account for unexpected delays.
Forgot to add- we have to be ready by 8am.

If only ONE girl is doing everyone's hair - then yes.......it may take up to 5 hours ! Personally I think you should try to have your BMs find someone else in the same shop maybe ? No one is going to a happy camper @ 3am - that is insane !
Yeah, I agree, it does sound about right. At first when I heard I had to get my hair done at around 9:30am for a 3pm wedding I was like HUH? but it takes time.

That is normal - and you have to account doe special styles too. My friend's hair took 5 hours alone - she got married on 9/25/04.
ETA - she is Asian and has super thick almost waist length straight hair but for her wedding day it was all pinned up with curls piled into a bun.

Well I spoke with my make-up person to see what time she would want us up by and she said 6am would be fine with her. I told her what my hair person said as far as 3am and she was shocked. So I am just going to go ahead and get 1 more stylist that day. There is just no way I can be functional if I wake up at 3am. My girls even said if they had the option of getting it done and waking up at 3am or not getting it done they would take the latter.
I will either ask Tarale to bring someone or I just found out the person that is getting married at Land's End after me is using my make-up person for a start of 10am. So both she and her hair stylist will be coming out to LI together so I can just use her. Jenn from Hair Genie.
I am so thrilled that I found this out now vs closer to the wedding.

Tara Le definitely has someone she works with because she's bringing her for mine (9 women getting their hair done ) so just ask her, I'm sure that won't be a problem. Just be advised, she is SUPER SLOW. I'd rather wake up earlier than be running late because of hair...
