One of my friends is getting married and she wants to get hair extentions.
Has anyone done this in the past and who does them???? thanks

Macys has a person come in once a month that gives hair trials and sells veils and head peices and she put hair extensions in my hair and although it looked cool they really werent need unless you want to keep your hair down but still everyone is going to know that you got them. Also if you are putting it up my hairdresser said you can make it look like you have so much more hair than you really do. I also found them to be really expensive--but of course it is always what your friend wants to do.

just a heads up my friends did the extentions and they have bald spots now from it

Oh my that is horrible--did she have them braided in or was it just a comb.

braided one time and then sewn in bad bald spots. you have to move the hair around to see it but still . it is the way they take them out

I have short hair so I think it would look unnnatural and stupid for me to do it. Rightn ow, I am growing out my hair so I have more options as I get closer to my date. If I am not liking anything my stylist can do for me, then I will cut it REALLY short - the way I like it. I am growing it for FH but after the wedding, I am back to low maintenance (the way he met me!!!) I'm one who thinks that a bride should look just like the way she always does - just a lil fancier. Keep it simple.

I had them done, but I wouldn't recommend the place that I went to. Not b/c the results were ugly, but because they weren't very professional. I had to wait a long time even though I had an appointment, I felt like I was being pushed aside for some of her more regular customers, etc.
Also hair extensions are more hassle than their worth. When they braid your hair and sew it in, no one tells you that your head is going to itchy like CRAZY! I would never get them again
But if your friend really wants to get them, I'm sure that nothing I say could change her mind.... Hope you find a good salon for her!
ETA: I got them done for an event, not for a wedding - just wanted to clarify
