I recently went for a hair trial and was pretty happy with the result -- the updo was perfect.
The problem is that my hair is sort of thin in the front, so I always wear bangs, but both the woman I did the trial with and my regular hairdresser said that for an updo I should grow out my bangs and sweep them off to the side. They said this would be especially beneficial b/c of my thin bangs.
I've been growing 'em for a few weeks and I just hate it -- I have a bobby pin in my hair everyday! I could live with this if it meant my hair would be better for the wedding -- but I really don't want my hair to be plastered to my head on my wedding day.
I just don't know what to do. I keep looking back at the pictures from the trial and I know I don't want to look like that on my wedding day!
I'm considering getting extensions put in, but I've never heard of that for the crown of the hair. Does anyone know if they do that?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a better style?
TIA

Re: Hair help
dont know if this will help but you could keep bangs and do this I think.
I'm keeping my bangs. My forehead is very high, and I just don't look good without them. My aunt had a good point and noted I've had bangs my whole life, and I won't look like myself without them. While I want my hair to look different than the norm, I still want to look like myself.
So all that said, I think you should keep your bangs if you like them. Maybe they can brush down a few wispy bangs and pin the rest up?

Re: Hair help
if you really want to grow them out, try switching to a headband instead of a bobby pin - that helped me when i grew out mine years ago. good luck!

Re: Hair help
In highschool I grew out my bangs, and I had really thick ones. I did the bobby-pin thing, and it was annoying for a while. But it is really nice to have them grown out, and it isn't bad for that long. I agree with the headband idea. But try to get a soft one, maybe made of fabric. I always find that headbands hurt my head after a while and then I have to take it off. Also, cute little clips may work too. The ones that are like claw clips, only miniature.

I think you should look like you on your wedding day.
But, I agree that's it just a phase. I decided for whatever reason that I wanted bangs a few months ago, and cut them. Now, I'm growing them out too. They are almost long enough to put behind my ears so they're not in my eyes.
I found in the last few days (it's been sunny) I can wear my sunglasses on my head to keep my bangs back...

Re: Hair help
Why not have the bangs swept softly to the side...like the above pic? It's very pretty.
