I have straight hair and dont really know how to do much because I never really needed to

i just know how to make it straight!

things you can do to eliminate flyaways:

1. use heat protectant on your hair before straightening -- i used to and should start again
2. if you can avoid blow drying your hair before you straighten it, try to let it air dry so you dont get double heat damage
3. look into an anti-frizz product like frizz-ease by john frieda or Threads (forgot the brand)
4. if your blowdryer or straightener has a cool shot, that can help too
5. try out a smoothing creme

ask your salon? do they put any particular product in it? mine used Threads so i bought it and it works well to make things piecey if you have layers and eliminates some frizz
