I noticed that I am losing a lot of hair in the shower, much more than a person normally should! I used to lose in 4 days the amount I now lose in a day. It comes out in long strands and it’s really freaking me out!!! I don’t know that to do!!!
Would that be a side affect of coming off the pill? Are there any vitamins out there I can take to straighten the roots? I don't know that to do!

I thought I was the only one! So much came out this morning, it scared me to death. If you find out how to stop it, let me know.
ETA: a hairdresser once told me it was normal, but I don't know.

When I was losing hair at one point - due to stress - i was put on iron pills - i would def go to dermatologist before you do anything though!

A lot of hair always comes out for me. I have really thick hair and you would never know! Some also falls out when I blowdry it. I think I pull too hard with the brush. But the shower thing, I know so many people that this happens to. I wouldn't worry that much. Maybe ask your dr. if it is related to coming off the pill.

It can also be the time of year. The doctor told me that you lose more hair during certain times of the year....and the spring might be one of them.

i lost a lot of hair from my medication when i had pneumonia, but i also freak out from using certain chemicals and i read that sodium laurel sulfate is actually really bad for your scalp and who knows if that is right, but i have started using shampoo from the health food store that is more gentle.

it can be a side effect of the pill - which one were you on? my co-working was losing a lot of hair and then went off the pill (yamine (sp?)) I think and lost even more hair. she has been going to a lot of different doc's for this. They are all saying its a side effect from this one type of pill
but don't worry, it will grow back!!!!!

This happened to me once. I couldn't figure out what was going on and by chance, I switched my conditioner and found that less was falling out. I don't know if my conditioner was the cause but it made a big difference when I stopped using it.
