My DH and I have been BD for the past few days. Hopefully it will happen this month. I have an appointment to get my hair highlighted this weekend. I have heard in the past that you can not get your hair highlighted. Do you think I should cancel my appoinment?

I was told to avoid it in the first trimester but after that the foil method is safe.
I was in the same situation before I had a positive and I cancelled my appointment just in case. I'm glad I did because it turned out I was pregnant.

I asked my hairdresser the same thing and she said they use a vegetable base and as long as the mixture doesn't touch the scalp it's ok and safe. She said coloring wouldn't be good cause the dye touches the scalp. Highlights are on the foil.

My sister is a stylist and also had a baby, she normally colors her hair, but used heavy highlights throughout her pregnancy. She also said that many clients continued to color their hair while pregnant, but she herself, felt that highlights were safer!
