Ok - so I had gone for a hair trial and posted pics and everyone was like 'Nice, but needs more curls/volume etc.' so I began to doubt my stylist. Still, I sent in a $50 deposit.
I was recently contacted by Nicole D'Angio, who I had orginally contacted back in Sept and she was finally getting back to me.
Her policies are a little different than what I'm used to, and she has another inquiry for my day.
So I'm not sure if I should put down a deposit (for everyone's services - not just mine) without a trial - she's booked until Jan 16th so that's when I'd be going!!
HELP!

hmmm tough one! nicole d'angio has done some great stuff but what if you end up not liking anything she's doing for you? at $200, that's a lot of money to not be COMPLETELY happy with your hair.
i'm not familiar with her policies bc i'm still waiting for her to get back to me about my date but i can't imagine that EVERY time slot she has is booked until January 16th?? there's no way she can squeeze you in?? has the other person done a trial with her yet?

I am using her and actually met with her last night and I absolutely loved her!!! She is really open to your ideas and really wants to try to get the best hair style for your day. She does multiple differnt styles at the trial until you find the one you really want and I really liked that because first I just went to my stylist and she only did the one from some pictures I brought in and I really wasn't 100% happy.

I am actually hoping to call her today to set up a trial - how are her policies different? Sorry to get off topic . . . just curious. I do love her work though.

Well, she needs a 50% deposit for everyone's services the day of - so if you're having 10 people getting their hair done, it's a lot. Usually you just have to put down for the bride.
Plus, I'm just thinking ahead about how I can't ask the girls to put up the $$ for the deposit now so I will have to do it.
Also, the 1/2 hour appts are $75 and that's the MAX my bmaids will pay. She said for half up/half down she needs an hour, which is $125.
I really don't think i can ask my bmaids to pay that much for hair!

Wow. That is a lot. I don't even know how many people are definitely going to be getting their hair done by her the day of. She needs to know up front?

To hold the date, she needs to know.
I just don't know - I feel like I want to use her b/c I know my hair will look amazing but I feel weird about my bmaids paying a lot. I COULD pay the diff but then it's a lot for me to pay, you know?

I agree that its a lot. Maybe not for the bride, but for eveyone else. And I agree with you about not asking them to put down for the deposit - but that is going to be hefty!! Does she have a minimum that she needs you to guarantee?
ETA: who did your trial? I think it looks nice, but I see what you mean about volume.

Re: Hair Issue - Need Advice!
Min = 3 people
ETA - Carolyn did my trial. I liked it, but now that I have the chance to have a trial with Nicole, I feel like I should jump on it, you know?

Re: Hair Issue - Need Advice!
Nicole is from Panache hair salon if I remember correctly. My Best friend goes to her regularly for hair cuts and updos....she had her for her updo and it was amazing. She was recommended to me as well. I called her i'd say over a month ago and no one has called me back. I normally would NOT call someone again, but she comes highly recommended so i might give it another chance.

I sent her an email a thousand years ago but I'm going to book with Roseanna. So don't worry about your date being taken with her!!!
I wonder why she took so long to get back to both of us!!!

I was actually going to post something about her taking almost 2 months to get back to me!!! My trial with Roseanna was so much $$ and I liked what she did so I didn't want to spend any more money on trials!!! LOL!!!
I'm glad I saw your post so you didn't feel like you had to rush and get a trial or just book with her immediately!!!
