Getting married in May, already have some ideas of what I'm looking for. How far in advance should I get my trials done? Thanks!

Re: Hair & Make up trial question
well i am psychotic - i am getting married in jan 2008 and i wanted to do my trials this winter
BUT then a wise person pointed out to me - you have to at least have your veil or tiara or whatever you are wearing - so you can get a true hair trial
so i would wait until i had all that - but after that - go for it whenever you feel like it - i am just making sure I go in the winter bc i get REALLY dark in the summer and i want to see what i will actually look like with my pale winter skin LOL

Re: Hair & Make up trial question
I am getting married the same month and I already had my trail and booked the vendors.
I wanted to lock in the vendor (Oksana and Jenn) since they are extremely popular and were already booking for 08'

Yes, I'm using them as well, but I gave them a deposit of $20 each to hold the date just in case. I figured at worst, if I'm not happy, I only lost $40. Just not sure when to try them out. I guess I should start making an appt just in case I'm not happy with them, I can find another. I doubt that'll be the case though!

Re: Hair & Make up trial question
I had my makeup trial already and am booked. I am using my fabulous regular hairdresser so I am waiting to do my trial with her but already have her booked. She did my hair for my eparty and it was great. I got so many compliments so there was no doubt in my mind as to who I'd be using.
A lot of brides seem to be booking things very early so if you have your heart set on specific people I would book a trial now as the longer you wait there's more of a chance they will be booked for your wedding.

Re: Hair & Make up trial question
It depends on what you are doing - are you going to go to a salon or have someone come to you? If you want someone to come to you, I would start doing it now. I got married this past May and scheduled my trials the July before then. The first two people I called were actually already booked for my date.

Re: Hair & Make up trial question
I'm a May bride too and have already booked my hair stylist and m-up artist. I think if you want someone that specializes in brides and travels to your home/hotel you really should start having trials now. There aren't a ton of stylists that come to you so they get booked fairly early.
If you plan on using a salon and are having everything done the wedding day there, then I think you can wait a little bit.
