Hair & Makeup timing

when do you start trials for hair/makeup?

Im having my eparty in may, was thinking about doing a hair trial then, since ill be dancing and what not and will be able to test it out


i also want to make sure the good people are available

also, can you rec your hair person?

Hey Jenni! I was looking into having my hair trials right about now based off of your concern regarding available hair stylists and because I'm getting married a holiday weekend. I was told by a few vendors not to worry until 10 months prior to my wedding and one of them said she wont even book a trial until 8 months before - in case I change my mind according to them.

I wanted to get things out of the way and considering that I've been engaged for 1.5 years at this point and have not yet changed my mind regarding the style - I went ahead and scheduled one. After all what are hair trials for?

Sooo i'm very happy to reccomend:Angela's Hair Design My hair is in long layers all the way down to the middle of my back and she was able to capture design and style beautifully. Her website does not do her justice; I went to meet her based of the reccomendation of another bride and because her hair trial was only $25!!!!! Too good to be true (and she has 20 yrs experience) - but it was even better!!! I bought in pictures and she set to work; she spent 3 hours with me at my trial and did three different hairstyles. Her fee on the day of is $100 and she made no mention of having a minimum and she only does one wedding per day + she's super nice! I tipped her of course and booked her with a deposit that goes towards the wedding day. She also will travel to you on the day of.
The rest of her pricing is as follows:
Attendants $70.00
JR Bridesmaid $50.00
Flower Girl $40.00
Mother of the Bride/Groom $60.00

but i want curlsssssss

and curls never stay for me...so i figured what better way to test it out than a night of dancing!

hmmm

maybe i can just have them do my hair...

and not a trial?

this way i can see if the curls in general will stay?

Nelli has somewhat of a point - I had an idea of what I really wanted so I tried that style last (maybe you might want to do the opposite) but at the end of the trial she placed my hair in loose curls bc I didn't want FH to see it. So she can work something out for you if having people see the trial is a concern
