Hair Question

Hi Girls,

I have a question about hair trials and prices. I received a quote yesterday (I haven't looked around much so I dont have anythinf to compare it to) and my trial was $85.00 and the day of was $175.00 for me plus 125.00 for each BM. I have 10 BM's. Is this a normal price? I knew that my hair was going to cost alot but I didn't think they would charge BM's and MOH's that much. Please let me know if this is high or if it's just me.

well its about average, you can find it for less of course if you dont want to spend that much.

Its about what you feel comfortable with so even if it is around the average price doesn't mean you have to go with it.

That is ridiculous, there is a place by me that will do updos for $40..this is not including a bride, I would go to my regular stylist for that or someone who really knows what they are doing...

That is ridiculous, there is a place by me that will do updos for $40..this is not including a bride, I would go to my regular stylist for that or someone who really knows what they are doing...

I wouldn't say its ridiculous consider it is about average, and were also talking about someone who comes to you. Yes there are lower prices out there and you said theres a place by you that will do it for $40 but thats not the norm many are not that low. Most places ive been to its $65 and up just for wash and blow dry

I retract my word 'ridiculous'...It is alot of money...I have gotten my hair done as a BM and paid over $100 for my hair it wasnt worth the money..Yes i know most salons are expensive..I would say shop around for different places...The $40 updo will look the same as a $120 updo in most cases...just making a suggestion

i agree that someone should pay only what they're comfortable with, so keep shopping if you are not happy with it. Doesn't matter whether its the norm or not, just depends on how you feel about it.

Also not everyone gets an updo, I m not and alot of people i know are not, just pointing that out, so other things do cost more...i don't know what shes looking for so not sure

Thanks girls. I'm most likely getting an updo. I just thought that 125.00 per person for the bridesmaids was a little much. I expect to pay extra for everything being that I'm the bride but I really dont want to tell my bridesmaids that their hair is going to cost them 100.00 on top of their other expenses ya know. I'm going to just keep looking around and look at local shops as well. Thank you all for the input.

yeah the bm part is hard bc its hard to tell them they have to spend alot on hair and make up. Definitely shop around and see what you can find.

no theres no time you are supposed to have booked hair and make up by...some girls are booking trials already bc they have their heart set on a particular vendor and want to guarantee they get that person, thats what im doing...others just want it out of the way
