I am planning on getting my hair trimmed tomorrow afternoon before my epics, so it looks nice and healthy.
my question is, when they blow my hair, can I ask them to style it a certain way? say, up in the front with clips or something- or can I only expect to get the standard blow out?
seems like a dumb question, but I really never get my hair 'done' in a salon- just basic cuts MAYBe twice a year

Re: hair salon question
If your appointment is just for a blow out that's all they will do. If you want, call the salon and explain the situation and see if your hair stylist can extend your appointment so that she/he can do something with you hair. If you do this, prepare to pay extra.

Depends where you go too....if you ask them to do something specifically, they'll do it. You're the customer - you pay them...they'lll deliver the service to you.
The places near my house all do blow outs for like $8 - $12 and they'll do it pin straight or tuck it under, or in a pony tail afterwards....doesn't matter to them.

Christine... You must go to the same place I go in Brooklyn (15th Ave & 86th St.)
I come there from Staten Island to have my hair blown out when I have a party.

And Jessica..
They can do whatever you want.. Just make sure you extend the appointment. (& yes prob pay extra)
Your best bet is to look natural for your e-pics. You dont want to look too made-up. Let us know how things work out.

Re: hair salon question
I usually go to one of the Jean Louis David chains in the city, normally the one on 23rd and Park, though I don't have a specific stylist and don't go often enough to be remembered.
there is another one a block away from Bloomies, where I am having my m/u trial with Clinique, so I thought I would go there...
I guess I'll just take a few clips and tell her what I am doing- maybe she'll empathize with me!

Quite possibly! LOL - they're all over 86th Street - all the Asian (Chinese) salons do blow outs for like $8.
I just got my hair thermally straightened (Japanese straightening) so I don't go as often!

Re: hair salon question
I think it depends on the hairdresses. I've been going ot mine for a while so if I wanted him to put clips in or somehting simple like that he'd do it no problem but if its somebody that you don't know that well they might charge you.

Re: hair salon question
i know the girl i go to would do it for me, no problem...but since you don't really have a 'regular' stylist call and see if you can have something done...they may charge extra (which is stupid) but if you explain before hand you will get what you want

Re: hair salon question
hey Jess, I just cut my hair on sunday and I told the girl exactly what I wanted. I even brought a pic and she did it to a tea.
