I have naturally very wavy hair that I like to blow straight on occassion, however when I blow it straight, It isn't 100% straight.
I go for blowouts and they use an iron on my hair after they blow it out. I love the way it comes out. but when I can't get there, I do it myself Should I buy my own and if so, can someone recommend a good one?
Thanks

Re: Hair straightening Irons
I use a clairol model that comes with four different plates -theres actually one for crimping! Is this 1988? Anyway - I have a hard time getting my hair perfectly straight especially in the back (its not naturally curly, but there is a tiny wave in it) THe front looks very nice. I think I would rather have a model that is strictly for straightening. My MIL has a revlon model that has a temperature control button - she actually travels with it!
Good luck!

Re: Hair straightening Irons
Hey Jen, my hairdresser used one on me the other night. I forgot where she said to buy it, but she said there are ones that are made out of porcelain and they are better for your hair.
Just a tip

Re: Hair straightening Irons
definitely look into a ceramic/porcelain flat iron! they transfer heat better than metal irons.

Re: Hair straightening Irons
My mom and I were just having a conversation on flat irons. She just got one and ir didn't help her.
I blow my hair out every day and have gotten pretty good at it but if this will help me and make it quicker, I may invest in one.
For those that use them and have naturally wavy hair, do you blow out your hair first then use the iron or do you let it dry wavy then use the flat iron?

Re: Hair straightening Irons
Sometimes i blow my hair out first, then you dont have to much to staighten, and everyonce in a while i will straighten it after its airdryed, but that way causes more damage because you have to leave the straighter on your hair longer,..

I have a hair straightening iron and I think they work great. You shouldn't use it too much though because it is not good for your hair.

Re: Hair straightening Irons
I have one of those hair dryers with the round brush attached at the end..not sure what you call it. It's the kind where the hot air actually comes out of the brush itself. I love it! It works well for straightening your hair as you dry it and you don't have to worry about your hair getting tangled (the brush doesn't spin). I think it also must be easier to use than the Revo styler because you don't have to hold the brush and the hair dryer at the same time.

Re: Hair straightening Irons
I agree another vote for hot tools. But i too have wavy hair and it's all in the products you use while blowing it out. The iron is good to smooth out and fix pieces but you should try and use a good straighting balm. I also use shine stuff after I am done drying. :) Let me know if you want any more info! I'm the queen of hair straighting LOL.
