Hair stylist... hope I'm not too late!

Hair stylist... hope I'm not too late!

So we booked our photographer a few weeks ago and they commented that we were doing things 'last minute.' Since our wedding is more than six months away I'm feeling like the wedding industry runs on a different time scale than I'm used to!

So we've got photographer, DJ, flowers, hotel block... and I really need to get on this hair stylist thing. Can anyone recommend a day-of hair stylist that travels to your wedding venue? Someone who doesn't book years in advance?

Eek! I'm trying to be relaxed about this planning business, but it's crazy how early some things need to happen!

I completely understand what you're saying! I'm not getting married until November and one hair person told me that she books at least a year in advance! I freaked out! I think a lot of the industry just likes making you feel behind. My friend booked her wedding in 4 months and had no trouble finding what she needed!

Soon2MrsMango recommended her hair person to me, Kim From Bedford and Mane in Bellmore. I didn't want to do my trial almost a year in advance so I went for a haircut just to meet her and look at her photos and she was so friendly and reasonably priced! She also does makeup! I booked her on the spot after my haircut!

I totally agree on this! I can't believe how far in advance some of this stuff books it seems insane to me.

I just booked my hair person last month for my wedding in March, though if you have someone specific you want I would book them asap as the person I really wanted was booked...Angela's hair design.
I ended up with Glam me up and Lisa was great.

I felt like everyone I meet says 'well you are a bit late in the game' REALLY? How come those vendors are still available? So silly of them freak you out for no other reason than getting their deposit as early as a year before your wedding day!
Do things at your pace girl! Good Luck!

Some may use that line but the popular vendors really do book that far out!

Thanks everyone! I figure as long as I don't set my heart on any one vendor, I'll be fine- there are plenty of people available, I just may have to search a little bit harder the longer I wait. It's great to hear that I'm not the only one not doing everything years in advance! :D

I'm booking a trial with Dusti at Fire Monkey... I love it that she used to be in the Marines! And then went into hairdressing... that's awesome! She recommended a makeup artist that she works with a lot, so I'm hoping to cover two at once. Looks like Dusti has some great reviews on here so I can't wait to have my trial!

Oh, and I originally contacted Angela's, because she comes so highly reviewed and her work looks great, but after she initially told me she was free for my wedding date, she never got back to me when I contacted her about a trial. Weird.
