Getting a pricey hair trial in the city today. I want to tip, but also this girl works for herself out of her home. Being that the trial is more pricey to begin with, should I still give her 20 percent of what she's charging or is some extra money a sufficient tip being that it's all going to her and not a company? Thank you.

Re: Hair Trial Advice
Depends how pricey. I would tip ten to fifteen. Even a twenty if its over a hundred.

I'd probably give her $10- no more.

15-20% is customary for a service whether they are private or not. Its a service!

agree with this 100% you would still tip a waiter the same percent whether you went our for a hamburger or for filet mignon. a service provided is still a service provided regardless of cost

I tipped 20% My advice to you is DO NOT BOOK on the spot. I did and then regretted it. I am lucky enough that the stylist is returning my deposit to me (or she said she is!). You need to see how the look holds, and you NEED to see the pictures. Things can look really different in pictures.

If you love it tip 20% based on the price of the trail, if your not loving it tip 10%
