So I am looking for a hair person.. but don't want to go for a trial until 1-2 months before the wedding. I don't want to wait until then to book someone though because I am afraid she won't be available. Did anyone book a hair person before doing a trial? Is this a bad idea? I want to use Jenn the Hair Genie based on recommendations here, plus she works with my makeup artist.

Re: Hair Trial questions
I've heard great things about her so I don't think it would be bad to book her before doing a trial since she has a great reputation and especially since she works w/ your make up artist.

Re: Hair Trial questions
I'm getting a trial before booking. I don't have my dress or veil yet, so I have to wait on the hair...
If you already have your dress and a veil/headpiece do the trial now before booking with her. She may have done nice hair on others but you don't know what it'll be like on you.

Re: Hair Trial questions
The thing is is that I am going through a lot of issues with my hair right now. I wanted to wait until it was fuller and longer until I had the trial so I could see what it would more be like for the wedding. My hair is practically unmanageable right now so a trial would be pointless.

Re: Hair Trial questions
I would not book someone without doing a trial. Just because other people like her does not mean that you will like how she does your hair.
Marlo went to my hair girl and although she always is amazing with my hair I definitely did not love what she did with Marlo trial.
Honestly I think the fact that you are having issues with your hair makes it even more important to have her work with your hair. Worst case scenario is you can do another trial when it gets closer.

Re: Hair Trial questions
I had my hair trial today, and I absolutely loved her! Everyone in the salon commented how Debbie 'works magic' and I really agree. I have frizzy hair and she straightened and added extensions (which I bought from Sally Beauty Supply for $17), and they looked great and still have a ton left over! I would definitely recommend her-- what a lovely woman she is!
If you want her contact info, let me know :)

I'm on my 5th one!! Definitely do the trial now and if you like it you can always go back for another one. I know it seems like a lot, but its amazing how bad some of my trials came out!!

I would go for a trial... but how much is she requiring as a deposit? is it small enough that you are willing to lose it if you dont like her?

Re: Hair Trial questions
def get a trial! I had been sick and was having some hair issues because of it and Sachiko (she is amazing) said it was great that i came in with my hair that way because she got to see it when it was bad and I knew if she could owrk with it then, she could work with it when/if it gets better.
