Hey girls! I have my hair and makeup trial tomorrow.
Should I not wash my hair tomorrow morning? Also, is it okay if I put on moisturizer in the morning as well?
TIA

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
I washed my hair the morning of-- because that's what I am doing the day of. People recommend not to wash it the morning of because the natural grease that you will have by not washing it will help your style hold. However, I think its okay to wash your hair in the morning of because your stylist will tell you what works best for your hair.
I put in a leave in conditioner in my hair to make it look presentable... so I think any product that's not too heavy e.g. gel, hairspray, etc. is okay.

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
I washed my hair before my trial and on my wedding day. I guess it all depends on what kind of hairstyle you're getting. If you have naturally straight hair but you're getting curls, it might help if your hair is a little more oily. Otherwise, I think you're fine washing it beforehand.

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
i told my hair stylist that i wash my hair twice a day (day and night).. her response was 'waaaay too much washing..' so she suggested that I DO NOT wash my hair the day of.. that way the natural grease will come out and it gives her a better idea how ur hair works. HTH!

If you want to wash it for the trial I say do it.. but for the day of... if U really want it to stay put... I'd do what the girl tells u to do.

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
I did my trial after work in the summer, and I HAD to wash it bc cant not wash my hair especially in the summer, it gets WAAAAY too greasy. But the day of my wedding, i ended up washing it too, and worked out just fine. I realized i needed to touch up my roots a little bit so i did it early morning and obviously had to wash it out. I had my hair curled and curls lasted all night long. They have tons of products out there to keep the curls or style in whether washed or not.

I can't not wash my hair because not only does my hair get oily, my skin breaks out too even though I was my body. So, I plan to wash it the night before instead of the morning of.

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
I washed my hair the morning of my trial and dried it with a hair dryer. BUT, no hair products and def no flat iron. If I don't wash my hair the morning of, I'd look like a grease ball walking down the aisle (gross, I know).
But some people can get away with only washing it the night before. The hair's natural oils will help your hair hold the curl/shape the next day. This is not the case with me.
For your make up - just wash your skin and moisturize as usual. Don't put any make up on, obviously.

I was told by my hair dresser and two places here when I went to check on hair & makeup. Wash it the night before.

Re: Hair Trial tomorrow...Quick question
Thanks everyone! I have naturally curly hair. If I don't wash the day of it gets really frizzy and knotty. I decided to blow it out straight tonight. I will just wear a shower cap in the AM and roll there without washing. I'm not sure what they would've done with my frizz ball hair if i didn't do it this way.
Wish me luck

You shouldn't wash your hair. 'dirty' hair is easier for them to work with.. also don't get a cut or trim close to the wedding... i had gotten a trim a few days before my trial & she told me not to cut it again until after the wedding.. the hair styles better when its not freshly cut...

if i wouldnt have washed my hair, the stylist would've had very very greasy hair to work with lol. I think its true for most ppl but if you have baby fine hair like me, if i wouldnt have washed my hair in the morning the day of my trial, which was on a june day then by the time i would've gotten to her at 6pm, my hair would've been SOOO greasy. Its so bad that in the summer if i wash my hair, by early evening its already greasy. So I think it really depends. Same with morning of wedding, well i had no choice but to wash since i got color but i would've regardless. Half way through the day my bangs and roots would've become very greasy if i didn't. I hate it, bc they say not to wash your hair everyday since its bad for you, and i see ppl who can go a day or 2 without washing but I can't Not to mention if i dont wash my hair my forehead starts to get real oily from my hair so not a good look lol.
I guess bc of that my stylist said it was ok. Dirty hair on me has a completely different meaning than dirty hair on someone else lol. If you run your fingers through my hair if i dont wash my hair for just 1 day, your hands will be full of grease and it would look like i had wet curls
