Hair Trials...

Hair Trials...

Sorry to vent but I am a little frustrated and where else can I turn but to my girls at LIW...I mean its not like I can interrupt FH's football games with my hair issues.

Tonight is hair trial #4 and so far only 1 of the first three was even decent. I feel like this was suppose to be the easy part of planning...heck you just tell them what you want or show them some pics of what you like and they make it happen or at least produce something that is wedding day worthy.

The first girl I don't even want to comment on. The second girl couldn't get curls to stay in my hair - mind you I do not have pin straight hair and the third girl was the best of the bunch, but still not what I imagined.

I am meeting with Mya (LIW vendor) tonight and hope that she is my saving grace. I would share pics, but cannot even bare to put them up here.

Has anyone else had similar experiences? I am going broke trying to find someone capable of doing my hair on my wedding day...I just want to cry.

edited for spelling

Re: Hair Trials...

me!! I had the SAME problem....don't even get me started on some of them....one of the trials literally looked like a bird's nest on top of my head.

I finally found someone that nailed it. His name is Christian Diaz...he is a freelance hair stylist in the city and he is amazing. Really great...you would have to come to the city to have a trial ($100), but he really takes his time. He comes to you the day-of ($250 for the bride, $125 for bridesmaids).

good luck!

100.00 for the trial????? That is so expensive - or am I just cheap, or naive??? Are all hair trials that much??? How will I ever be able to afford the real thing once I pay for all those trials???

'you get what you pay for' is my philosophy. I had several 'free' or cheaper hair trials before his, and I didn't find what I wanted. Some of the free trials were with vendors that are highly recommended as well.

Oh boy - I havent even got to that stage of planning yet... What price is too cheap for a hair trial to be good?

Oh, sometimes you can def get a good hair trial with someone that charges cheaper...unfortunately it didn't work out that way for me :( Everyone has a diff experience....again, for me it just took me longer (and cost more $$) to find the hair stylist that worked for me. You might get lucky and book with the first person you have a trial with!

Re: Hair Trials...

I cried after my first trial it was so horrible!!! I had tried several different styles during that trial but it went from bad to horribly worse!! I just had my second trial (totally different person) last week. It's not anything like what I really wanted but my hair can't do what I really wanted so I hate to say but I am slightly dissapointed. I love love love the way the back of my hair looked even though it's not what i had my heart set on! The front doesnt thrill me though, I didn't even post a pic of the front.

It's hard and so dissapointing and can get expensive and time consuming - i have so much hair it takes hours to curl it.

I think we get an image of what we want to look like in our head and it's hard to get over that when reality sets in.

I hope you find what you are looking for!! I'd say try Jennifer at Salon Blue she's wonderful!!

Keep us updated!!

I only paid $30 for each of my trails- and I love my hair- the third one was perfect

the first 2 weren't her fault- she did what I asked- it just didn't look right on me

Re: Hair Trials...

My hair trials were a variety of prices from $40 to $75. For me it is more the frustration of not even coming close. It is very time consuming and harsh on my hair. I just want to be confident that on the day of my wedding my hair will look good....is that too much to ask?

I have had 2 hair trials and I hated both! One was from a popular vendor on this site and the other was at Cactus.
I am so confused!! I dont know what to do either!

Re: Hair Trials...

On one hand I am happy to hear that I am not alone....on the other hand it stinks that we should all feel this way.

Wish I had the answer....guess I just have to keep doing this until I am happy.

Re: Hair Trials...

Mya just left me a message that she had an emergency and can't make it tonight. I totally understand that things happen and will reschedule with her...but at this point it is almost funny cause I feel like this whole hair thing can't get any worse.
